I thought our love was evergreen
Ever seen an evergreen fade
I cleared your things with gasoline
With gasoline until the garden was greyed

Well the smoke curled like your hair
But it's gone
And I've been teary eyed here
Too long

Goodbye
I hope you never see the tears
I tried
To hide them all these years
Not that you care
That I'm singing it from here
Goodbye
From a song you'll never hear

I watched the clock to pass the time
At last it seems our time has run dry
Your love it tastes like alkaline
Poisoning the earth once it dies

Well we were like a battery
That drained
The toys are all gone but well
Poison remains

Goodbye
I hope you never see the tears
I tried
To hide them all these years
Not that you care
That I'm singing it from here
Goodbye
From a song you'll never hear
