you told me not to look under your bed
because hidden underneath was something very personal
something you didn't want me to see

but then you went on vacation
and the temptation was so strong
with your empty room calling to me

so I reached under the bright blue bed skirt
and pulled out the crisp envelope
that was no longer sealed

and slowly I read the message
that said she didn't want me
she only wanted you

placing the envelope back where I found it
I permanently hid the tears
and my disrupted reality

*didn't she ever wonder why I disappeared?
