Sunlight on hedgerow
No one attends your morning
show
Red , marigold and brown
Beige and shiny black
Thou art a treasure to the eye
yet fools turn their backs
An entwined miracle teeming
with life , shimmering in new day light
Red tip and 'suckle , chickadee and sparrow
Green windjammer sheets filling me to
the marrow , stoic within the windy confusion
of February , inquisitive and refreshed
