Just step outside yourself today
   to take a closer look;
Are you the man you should've been,
  you're life an open book?

Have you became what others say,
   they'd one day like to be;
Or think to self, this can't be right,
   I'm so ashamed of me?

It's not about, the years gone by,
   the past has all been paid;
It's more of what you're doing now
   and how you live today!

Live life to love each one around,
   make time for those who care;
Just pass on things you've came to know,
   remember life's not fair!

Take steps to help someone who's down,
   to show a bit of love;
Just find a way to share the truth,
   forgiveness from above!

Now focus on the here and now,
   make memories for to last;
Then look at self from outside in,
   to change the things of past!
