On that rare occasion
some friends and
lovers come and go

Reluctantly at times
or quietly into
the lonely night

Advantages are
often taken without
plausible merit

Mistaken kindness
for shallow weakness
reveals resolute truth

SEVERED TIES
may reclaim ones
dignity to self

The peace of
letting go may
reclaim self-worth.
Sometimes we need to part ways with an old friend.
