Burning butterflies at the end of time
Watching wings turn to ash
And dreams embrace death
The flicker of the flame
Whispering a dead lovers name
Stars hold their breath
As they wish they could become fish
Lost at sea in tranquil blue
Quench their fire for a moments rest
A chance to sleep and a chance to dream
Of butterflies with burning wings
To take their place in midnight skies
So they could sleep until the end of time
