to connect the dots like one of
those old time puzzles  
where the picture hidden
evolves from spots
has been my lifelong quest

but so may dots  fall off the paper
and some disappear
became  fuzzy out of focus
others I had to erase

so the finished product is never sharp
the effort extended may come
to naught or be protracted
but I never cancelled

my prescription had a shipment arrive
every week of new and better
dots and spots  and invisible pens
I tried to get to draw a line
from there to there

point to point
and am still trying
to make sense
out of the final
picture
