One day came
I engulf myself
in assumed forgetfulness
away from toxic memories.

I faced the day
Counting more days ahead
Going easy
for this heart of mine.

Am I too scared to forget?
Is there a pill?
Cause I still play pretend,
to memories that made me ill.
