Darkness crawls across the walls and floor
Casting shadows throughout the castle
Candles giving momentary relief
Before you plunge back into the blackness
Water dripping from the ceilings and window sills
You wander through the desecrated halls
A scream echoes ricocheting off of the walls
Traveling through the castle
Your breath shortens becoming quicker
Obsidian shadows following as the candles become fewer
Your steps echo as you navigate your way through the halls
Hoping, praying that whatever caused the scream
You would not encounter it
Your steps quicken as fear overcomes you
Exposure to the pitch black causing the fear
Your breath and heart stop as ahead yellow eyes glare
Murderous, ravenous yellow eyes
Stepping back, the eyes stare straight ahead, never wavering
You turn and run, cursing the entity that condemned you
The dampness of tears streaming down your face
As you reach where the candles are lit
You turn and squint into the darkness
Searching for a glimpse of the yellow gaze
You sigh in relief sagging against the wall
Opening your unknowingly shut eyes and there they are the yellow eyes
The last thing you see are the white teeth and hearing your own screams
Monsters lie awaiting in the dark, but they also lie in the light
