When man speaks lies
yet seeks the truth
When all that’s loved
is most uncouth

I hide away from the world unclear
murky with malignancy and faced by jeer
hidden away I’m tucked, austere
afraid to let obscenities near.

A knock on my door
they call close by
sweet nothings through
the cracks they cry
but word by word
I feel the lie
