The desperate don’t ask questions They depend, they trust, they’re vulnerable We’ve let them be violated
But it’s not our fault! we protest
The system was built up this way individually and corporately The promise of billions or more in paper outweighing the value of a life and now this is the way it is
So see, we say, it’s not our fault!... Not yet
We’ve been putting band-aids on this broken limb Oh, can’t you see, It’s broken! If we let it heal wrong, we’ll just have to break it all over again
It’s in the oath Know not how to cure the disease, you call in a colleague This has nothing to do with pride or whose system is working best We have to learn from the success of the rest
These mistakes are at the stakes of human lives This broken system can't keep the tally on our side
It’s only our fault if we don’t try.
