Mar 2016
Today I left you at the pier
I watched your city become a matchbox
Then shadows, then clouds
The seagulls flocked
And screeched in dismay
The water, it carried me away
I tried to keep with me the birds that were from your shores
I threw bread so they followed me all the way home
When the boat docked
And I walked off
Even the birds left
And took my heart back
