One night we lingered (a war's poem)
One night we lingered
face to the moon
cradling in lovers arms
yet ours were
the fires in the sky
shining the night bright.
Clouded the minds
in oblivious thoughts
in vain prayers
aimed at peace
the hands
clung
war signs
Cold of the night,
shotgun and fire,
noise in the sky
yet ours were
the fires in the sky
shining the night bright
One night we lingered
face to the moon
cradling in lovers' arms
knowing the sun
won't follow.
