"Don't Go There Again"

by @mike-hauser

On this road there's many paths As many rights as there are lefts With street names like Wandering Day And Restless Nights along the way How many times has this vagabond been On the road of "Don't Go There Again" There's an empty house on the cul-de-sac With people in but they're without Where there never seems to be enough Welcome to new America Knock if you like, you're welcome in Into the house of "Don't Go There Again" With youth not like back in the day Innocence packed up tight and shipped away A crazy attitude to life's demands How many told they could but find they can't What's in is out, what's out is in As we fall in line with "Don't Go There Again" Your head spins round, completely numb With your mind being filled with daily junk You order some sanity on the side Would you like to up the size In the drive through line you pull ahead As they hand you the bag of "Don't Go There Again"
