This is the poem that I wrote In my second floor flat During the December downpour Not knowing that the first floor Would be flooded
Once again The district of the lakes Is taking A long shower, Again, Today, yesterday The day before yesterday I forget when it started The water's not hot We’ll all be wide, wide awake. We know The drains will overflow And flood the roads With mud and water No human ants will wander in the hills They would get way too wet. Maybe water rats will.

I have never seen this much rain for so long in the Lakes District. Life seems t have been canceled today. We were supposed to attend a Xmas gathering at Wordsworth Trust in Grasmere which has been canceled.
