She was like the moon
Captivated by the stars
They reminded her of him sometimes
Spending nights driving in his car

He was like the sun
Sometimes shaded by the clouds
But they didn't allow him to shine too bright
And he never came back down

She couldn't fall asleep
No matter how hard she tried
She tried to find someone who could help
Or who'd hold her while she cried

He spent his days inside
Feeling all alone
Hoping she'd call him one last time
So he laid there staring at his phone

He thought:
"If I inhaled
The scent of my sheets
Would they still smell like her
Even momentarily?"

She asked herself "why?
This is tearing my heart;
The pain is too copious,
And in no way is it 'art' "

If you hear crying,
Then it is okay.
It's just them being separate;
Slowly wasting away
