As the candles burn
Eiffel Tower is in relief,
we recall a city
whose presence is grace.

Grace in design
of style and of beauty.
So far removed
from recent pains transpired.

But while pains
will never be forgotten.
Anger burning,
pale flames have the answer.

Flames of life
spirit of remembrance.
In love recall
from warmth burn shadows.
