Our eyes lock, and my words are at them,
Like hands at a door.
Knocking,
Is anybody home?
It's almost three a.m.
Dead silence rules the air,
And our breathing becomes like the wind.

Let me in, but don't keep me,
Give me a brief chance,
Then expel me.
Back into the darkness,
Where I watch and wait.
Blood flowing from my wounds,
And tears forming in my eyes.

Before the night is over,
Let me sleep.
But not in peace,
Forever in fear.
And give me a dream with a deadly kiss goodnight,
And the poison on your tongue.
Watch me suffer.

I'll stand against everything you promised,
Everything I could wish for.
I already decided you were dead to me,
But until then, watch me suffer.
