I'll just swallow down *****,
so the burn in my throat
distracts from the pain in my chest.
I'll chase it with matches,
so maybe the fire will spark
something inside me
and burn out every trace
of you.
I'll inhale tobacco fumes;
it'll char my lungs,
but I'll exhale
the scent of your skin
in the smoke.
Maybe I'll destroy myself,
but if you'll always be apart of me,
destruction might set me free.
