When I first met you,
I thought you were the one.
And when you met me,
You showered me with love.
I thought about you,
Every single day.
And when you talked to me,
I didn't know what to say.
You said you liked me,
But you seemed so far away.
I didn't know love was so complicated,
I was so fooled by your empty praises.
And though you left me broken,
I don't want my words to be unspoken:
I wish you the best in life,
Though all you told me were your lies.
I want you to be happy,
Though we are now apart.
I hope that you grow to be a gentleman;
I mean it from the bottom of my hurting heart.
Sometimes the only reason why you're not letting go of what makes you sad, is because that was the only thing that made you happy.
