For Harriet - Wherever You May Be

read this quote and instant mournful,
for this is you,
and me lessened,
less courageous,
by your absence.

"Courage -
a perfect sensibility of the measure of danger,
and a mental willingness
to endure it."

William Tecumseh Sherman
one of the best poets ever here, who writes but infrequently now,
as she travels our united states
in her ambulance.
I miss you and your courage.
I endure.
