Here I stay
A world mine, it is.
This abyss,
A  garden of swart.
With graves of lost dreams.

And I
Like a raven on carrion,
Plunge into the black
Consumed by its ***** allure, a lunatic.
Never once tasting the light.

And then it came,
Shattering my sombre walls.
A shimmer of hope
With wings of white
Emerging from the charcoal blue.

I embrace this rarity,
A soothing warmth.
A caress;
With arms of mine callous.
“This is my redemption”.

My hold turns stiff
The white starts to fade.
Slipping away from my world
Leaving me void.

Here I wait.
World mine, it is.
A garden of swart.
A soul of grey.
Lingering for the white……
First attempt at poetry :)
