The world ran me down
Then ran me over
How can I mend
I just can’t stay sober…

It felt like May
A cool spring day
I tried to stay
It drug me away…

Great is the loss
Endless the cost
Clear as the sky
Lost alibi...

The witness just stares
There’s blood in the air
To the victim's despair
Nobody seems to care…

Now love makes her sad
And she don’t trust her dad
The world ran her over
She may never be sober…
