See the path of suffering
it's not one to walk down
but if you want to help people
it's a path you have to walk

Don't ask for applause or adulation
it does not work in that way
it's just blood sweat and tears
much emotional pain just to save

Wear your heart on your sleeve
never let them know of your goodness
it's a better way than to get too involved
just try to hide your emotions

Know you have to suffer for them
just to lift them off their knees
care for them
and truly love them
