I see pictures in my head.
Me with a magnet embedded in my stomach.
Repelling or attracting certain types of people.
A man walking the New York streets
Concerned over his ****** addicted brother.
I see viking ships sailing to protect their homeland
From dragons and crop plight.

I stained your body
With lipstick marks
You stained my soul
With your blunts
Kissing you is a must
Just because I like it when
Our lips touch during the night
You're addictive, very much so
I wish I never tried to let you go

You soothe my soul like alcohol
You ******* alive
Just like Rock 'N' Roll
I swear, this man
Has his hands
On my soul

He loves taking control
Like the bad boy he is
But he also knows
How to treat a girl
Like a princess

Oh, the ***
Oh, the love he gives
Oh, the control he has
Can't seem to get enough
This is what I call
Heaven on Earth

Puts his pen to paper
For one last goodbye
Will try his best to say it all
In this his final write

He'll address it to his loved ones
And those that know him well
In hopes they'll take it all with ease
Though there's no way to really tell

He's written about the ups and down
The ins and outs of life
So what is on this lonely page
Should come as no surprise

He's always felt so out of place
Even in this poets world
At one time was his saving grace
That no writings now can cure

So he puts his pen to paper
His beginning and his end
Never doing him any favors
Both as enemy and friend

All he can think to write
Is I've simply had enough
As his very last line for the very last time
Is written out in poets blood
I sit in the garden to think
she sits in the kitchen to drink
from the bottle of gin
hidden under the sink
didn't know that I knew
but
I help myself to a few in those moments of stress
when it seems that the more becomes less, the more you imbibe.

I go inside to find she has slunk to the floor
drunk so much more than a bottle or two
I must do
what I promised to do
to have and to hold to care for until old
and though I've told her I know
she'll still drink when I go
away from her side.

She did try to hide it
denied it
but she just couldn't win
the giveaway was
empty bottles overflowing, that dripped from the bin and the glasses I found hidden underneath chairs.
I said to her somebody cares and that somebody's me, but she couldn't see it was so.
So I'll go
and she'll drink
never stopping to think of the damage it does
to me or to her.
Still
I do care
it's the contract we made and I'll care 'til the day that I lay her to rest.

She says,
'it's best not to worry there's
no hurry for that
but when she's flat on the floor with bottles galore, all empty
it tempts me to think
that I too will drink 'til I can't drink no more and join my little darling
down there on the floor.
Life,
I ask
what is it for,
a tour around breweries
to stand before a jury of my peers,
to drink even more beers
to say cheers and depart?
A drink never mended a broken heart or stopped tears from falling
the barman's calling time
and time for another,
one for the road
which goes on and on 'til the pain has all gone
and she sleeps.
Don't stop now your on a roll
Came shouts from the crowd outside
So he took out pen and paper
In hopes of another rhyme

There were faces pressed against the glass
All looking for a view
Hungry for some answers
In the form of poetic truth

The atmosphere was sticky wet
Droplets forming on his face
A heaviness hung in the air
Nervousness that you could taste

Never doing well under pressure
He has learned this over time
So he goes into his darkened room
To purge all thought from mind

That's when this idea it hits him
What we never have enough
Takes out a permanent marker
Writes on the glass...

...Simply Love
Guess I have a poet trilogy here...
Think I'll stop now...

The memory of her sits on a balcony ledge, cigarette in hand.
My green light at the end of a dock.
And this time I am reaching out
like many before,
in pages and poems past.
Macbeth’s face is a book.
Her body is an atlas
tracing a beautiful continent.

Follow the long tributaries that lead to shallow deltas.
This shore begins softly and forms into slender feet,
quiet but powerful when outstretched an angler waiting for prey.
Odysseus, only, can hear this Siren play.

Follow her legs, those tawny plains,
unbroken, guiding along welcomingly,
inviting curiosity and conscripting imagination.
An oasis.
And her torso is a valley from which
her laughter is ****** upward and resisted until uncontainable.
Dimples break and burst like earthquakes.
A ridgeline is all that awaits until we see her face.
She is the Americas from bottom to top.

Follow her decorated canyon mouth
but know it is merely a diversion.
Her eyes are icebergs, which shyly reveal themselves
to sink ships and drown lovers, for always.
Her hair is aurora borealis,
the northern lights,
dancing colorfully
to an unaccompanied waltz
heard by everyone but her.

As the memory of her sits the smoke billows around
like clouds traveling down a coastline
only to dissipate
and disappear.

Hilda
I sought Him in temples where anthems swell
Stained glass windows and polished sermons suave;
Yet here I knew He did not dwell,
While poor child of dust creeps to his grave.

I sought Him in churches rustic and plain
Eager to drown my heartfelt sorrow,
These mockery so futile and vain
As I searched for a brighter morrow.

In meadow alone, a breeze touched my face
Whispering of days bygone, yet still dear
When life flowed at a leisurely pace
And I felt His presence - O! so near!

Bittersweet weeping of the mourning dove
Awakens me to sad pleading eyes
Shattering my heart with vials of love.
Forsaken man and beast hold God's disguise.

I see Him in each rippling blade of grass
When dew of morn glistens with His tears.
In moaning of wind I hear Him pass
Through aromatic pines and lose all fears.

God does not dwell in temples made with hand,
But speaks to us through each soughing pine.
Proud wealthiest mansions o'er all the land
Mocked by His majestic Hand divine.
