before it becomes flesh.

in a card game
someone has the upperhand
but thats not to say
that particular upperhand will win the game

if sanity had the upper hand
how much different our world would be.

jammed well into the day
stuffed into a corner

the weight of the universe
squashing your mind

juices flow sticky and sweet

sour faces appear on the horizon

quiet industry
a little clacking

breath in and out
itch to scratch

temple pulse

complicated creature
a soothing honesty.

living unknown
is easy
for
those

unknowing
to be

kindled heart fire
a burning love

unity deeper than thoughts
far deeper than expression

the well from which all comes

yellowed jaundiced shrivelled
living with a death mask
sunken eyes deep in sockets
skeletal face skin over bone pulled tight

silence kind balm

calmed
peaceful

nature speaks
with song and dance

a rattle and drum
meadow flowers spun

a spider in her web
stealth and skill

the poets tongue

when I took that right turn
onto a long unchartered road
I knew not where I was going
but for the first time I was free
knowing love travelled with me
love my undisputed destiny.

when pain turns to gift
gift turns to share
the spirit of Jesus
has broken through.

banishing myriad unpleasantness
a guard on your thoughts
unseeing what you have seen
its all in a day and lifetimes work.

long words can fill up the pages
putting value on silence is personal
waggling tongues curl around voices.

a cloudless blue sky
a temporary dryness

put all your money on red
a liquified sunset

the night is black
black skinned the successful hunter.

deafening rhetoric
the shouting kind

the weakest speech
a frail voice

where all sounds
are gaps within silence

from whence we came
to where we are going.

planetary minds bathed in moonbeams
a creature of dust and complexity-
searching for the blessed life of simplicity
born onto a path of discovery

words have their ghosts
wandering through books
peeking out at the world

forgotten to history
awaiting resolution

centuries can pass
dust gets thicker
light no longer visible

jumping the frog dance
we chirrup like birds
safe in the nest, fed

a deep well ancient waters
feet in ancestors dust
our song is of love.

making a joyful noise
voice raised up, crescendo
riding the air,
a heart fulfilled
a heart set free.

rain pitterpatters the window
unique, its very own song
heralding refreshing drink
rain dance, an end to thirst.

gathering the crumbs
on the margins of life

a quiet place
a quiet mind.

given something to share
some given much more

a couple of fish
some small loaves of bread

to make a noise
pleasant not grating

something beautiful
despite all the uglyness

songs come and songs go
love remains
another song arrives

joining up the dots
memories knock

never ending recordings
demand attention to details

where meaning weaves resurrection
a coming to life of the dead
otherwise it is all pointless
and where pointless lives
its every person for themselves.

curled edged and yellowed
dusty cobwebbed dead flies
ancient story written in blood

personal agendas litter the path
some fulfilled others discarded
many clamouring for the outcome
realising of the hidden conclusion

a journeyed night

kaleidoscopic eyes
a sparkling sea

end of the rainbow
dreamers, dreaming

through a pane of clear glass
eyes bulging, ears straining
a silent world comes to life

pebbles among boulders
what can a grain of sand do?

crumbling man made structures
the death of a runaway ego.

having arrived
sure you make ripples
and ride the ripples of others

soon the pond settles down

chomping at the bit

man at war
hatred and fear

stopping the runaway train is not possible
but you can comfort your fellow passengers
-with the truth

one day war
next allies

history tells
ever repeating banality

rain never arrived
the clouds passed on by

all the greenery
throats parched.

a new mine to dig

the map drawn
in everyday things

inexhaustible discoveries
