If you want to get into the society
You must die to yourself
And swallow alot of pride,
The education is interminable.

Here is what you must do:

Become authentic and genuine,
Speak as the world speaks as
If it were from another planet,
Be shiny in your darkness,
Consult with other dead poets,
Know the difference between
A haiku and a senryu
And not count syllables on your
Hands,
Fall in love but be aware
Your heart will be astonishingly
Broken,
Carry a pen and paper even
If you are going to the lake.

And if you have loved and lost
I suggest the following:

Read a book in the middle of a park,
Look dignified while doing so,
Walk around in soliloquy,
Bite your nails in public
As you write;
This suggests a deep thinking
Moment is occurring;
Talk on the phone at home
With a new friend for hours.

If you really want to be
In the society
You must know how to dance
When there is no music,
Wipe your nose with the inside
Of your shirt,
Laugh at the abyss of life,
Cry at the grandiosity
Of time,
Look in a mirror and have a staring
Contest,
**** the paper you write on
With sonnets about ***.

Remember also that you must
Conquest the metaphor and allusions
Of yourself,
This involves but is not limited to:

Falling for a circus acrobat,
**** roaches and then write the
Experience as a poem,
Become part of a vicious cycle
The break it,
Able to appear and disappear
On demand,
Kiss a baby that isn't yours,
Ask a newly married person
For their phone number,
Go to the Pyramids of Egypt
And see what the big deal is,
Cross the street using only
Your peripheral vision,
And finally to become a full
Fledged member,
Well that one is easy,
We all do it anyway.....
Easy targets make for great alibis
Because the fear stricken in their hearts
Will make them say any lies
Easy targets make for great playthings
You can't help but to manipulate their minds
Tugging on their marionette strings
Easy targets make for great alibis
Because they choke when they try
To utilize their own voice
Like an ***** addict
I was addicted to your eyes
Eyes which did spark
Spark like clusters of stars
On a moonless night

Like an ***** addict
I was addicted to the luster
The luster about your skin
A skin pale unblemished
Gaily yet opalescent as an opal

Like an ***** addict
I was addicted to your lips
Lips so sweet as nectar
Nectar distilled from
All flowers of heaven

Like an ***** addict
I was addicted to your voice
A voice so fresh
And euphonious like
Whispers of a nightingale

But most of all

Like an ***** addict
I was addicted to your love
A love so indelible to me
Love that had me glance
Past beyond

Atop the stars

"There is nothing more beautiful than the poetry I see in her smile"
- Stephan

Her smile is the sunrise that greets me each morning
aglow the horizon in shades of the dawn
The fragrance of jasmine a flow on the breezes
and shimmering dew drops that play on the lawn

A hot cup of coffee with cinnamon doughnuts
while walking through nature where meadowlarks sing
As soft as the petals of roses now blooming
where butterflies welcome the coming of spring

The shade of an oak tree so cool in the summer
with sunflower fields on a sky ever blue
As white cotton clouds float in shapes to discover
and skipping a stone is the best thing to do

Her smile is a poem of euphoric phrases,
written affection in mesmeric rhyme
The song in my mind that is forever playing,
desire filled lyrics to always be mine

A tangerine sunset on ribbons of satin
that gather each day at the far western skies
The stars in the heavens that dance in a moon beam
to wish me good night before I close my eyes

Then every dream that my sleep now entices
to cradle my heart in a wonderful style
All that is beautiful, all that is precious
and all that I love can be found in her smile
I sit here in my mind
and start to wonder what to do

In my mind

I bend back this long long
elastic, stretched it with all I had

I climbed in the middle and let her fly
Out through my cranium towards the sky, then passed the stars

Out into the universe headed for the closest galaxy.
