There is an enemy
Dressed as a friend
The picture of deceit
Who knows the end
We are standing here unafraid
In the lions den
‘Cause the power strong enough to save
Is running through our veins

We are the brave
We'll never break
Whatever it takes
We're gonna make it together
We're chasing out fear
You're not welcome here
Now and forever
Love is always gonna win the fight
Because the blood runs deep inside
We are the brave
A storm is on it's way
I can hear the sound
We will bend like trees that sway
But we won't fall down, down
The power strong enough to save
Is running through our veins
Birds turn white in the morning light
The riddle of sunrise exposed
The unchecked infirmity of age continues on
as we slowly succumb to the cold , as we
quietly move along
Fall bush appears set afire
Silver Maples quiver in desire
Earths Lamp calls on tea stained wild grass
doused in dawn wine , in living brine

Undone

Pathways opened
through doors unhinged

Journey travelled
with roads unworn

Magic unbound
from spells unchanted

Heartbeats birthed
but the heart's unborn

Verses recited
from a poem unpenned

A song sung
but lyrics unwritten

A dance performed
with routine unrehearsed

Feelings perceived
through words unspoken

Our lives are pregnant with insignificance.
Things like--pecker gnats and Chihuahuas,

fake bronze menorahs,  white t-shirts,
and plastic daffodils.  Good Mental

health demands we balance life’s  trivial
with significant concerns, such as--cost-free

drugs to feel less bad, dealing with suicidal
people who find homicide intriguing, predicting

a python’s hunger pangs and the why, of
Saturn’s four rings;  the wise know the difference.
A few of my relatives have become screen doors -
trying to hold back a Winter storm
