Come forth my friend,
don’t be afraid.
No need to hide,
give it a try.
Others may think,
you are not a beauty.
With your little spark,
they’ll judge you harshly.
But you are God’s creation,
His pride, his perfect invention.
Crafted by His own very hands,
to be the keeper of His lands.
Come out my friend,
you are a rare find.
Go on inspire,
go light your fire.

Fresh lovely flowers,
colors of spring.
In a porcelain vase,
some delicious scent.

No flavor for cakes,
cream cookies or chocolates.
Such provoking thoughts.
The irony, waste not.

A burning candle by the altar.
The sincerest prayer,
a deep longing… heartbreak.
The truth’s embrace.

Her simple wants,
such a mother of love.
Her children’s joy,
her loved-one’s content.

Then prayer as it is.
Some flowers to go by.
Smiles to go around.
And my heart’s courage.

He says he’s going to make it,
no friends and all.
Who needs people to rob your trust?
He tells me so.
Abuse you with their evil deeds?
Best be alone.
And so, he lives all by himself.
Rises and sleeps,
enjoying his tranquility.
He writes and reads
to live… keep his sanity, sane.
Some perfect life.
No worries, no disappointments.
Yet, no laughter.
No one to share his dreams or joys,
no one to love.
Now, how can he call that living?
No life at all.

Majestic ethereal being,
beautiful creature from above.
More than a perfect face,
noble heart without flaws.

He walks among mortal men,
in a darkened lonely path.
He seeks for the lost,
bringing them hope.

Only a few sees his kind.
Many take them for granted.
Blinded by selfishness,
corrupted by malice.

Earth angels are a rare find,
with broken wings and all.
Pity for those who seek,
an angel for a friend.

Yet a blessing for those,
finding an angel within a friend.

Do me a poem my sweet.
Recalling our younger years.
How we used to write notes.
Now, my heart longs for your words.

I want a poem my dear.
I’ll treasure every bit of it.
Make it sweet or corny,
I promise, I will be happy.

You said, you have lost touch.
Tried and tried but, no such luck.
No more beautiful rhymes.
Yet, still… I know you’ll find the lines.

I know you do love me.
This fact, I am always certain.
Your gestures say it all.
Do me a poem, don’t let me down.

Write me a poem, my love.
You know I can make the words.
I can say what you feel.
But, it is never the same.

I want a poem from you.
Write your promise that is so true.
Make me smile, my darling.
Let me fall in love again.

A smile is a joy for the heart,
an expression of being glad.
How people tend to fall in love,
with a person who smiles a lot.

Yet, people smile when they are sad.
They try to keep their grief inside.
Some people smile when they are mad.
They hide their rage in pretty masks.

Evil can lurk behind a smile.
Friendly and attractive, beware.
A lovely promise of allegiance,
and then, betrays you to your foes.

A genuine smile reaches the eyes.
It emanates pure from the soul.
Well described in innocence.
Seen, in the lips of a child.

How she wanted to be a man,
to be the conqueror of worlds.
Glory will be in her hands.
She will speak of her mind,
and the nation will listen.

How she envied every man.
He who has the strength,
to make his dreams come true.
And he who has the pride,
to speak of all his women.

How she wished she was a man.
To be free from her disguise,
as she ventures through the night.
And to roam the wildest streets,
no chaperone… on her own.

Yet, she wouldn’t sacrifice,
Her pretty pearls and laces.
Some true lady’s delight.
And she won’t give up her gift,
to bear the child of her man.

When does life begin?
At the crack of dawn,
as a new born wails
in the arms of his mum?

In his early teens?
When discoveries unfold,
first heart-aches seen?
Trials of a man-child.

Or, in his forties?
Serious commitments,
responsibilities,
as the body deteriorates?

Life starts with a promise.
First rays of the sun,
then suddenly demise
into big drops of rain.

Life can be bitter.
Yet, if we can see through…
Accept life better.
Only then, we can breathe.
'Celebrating life.'

Let my eyes, be your eyes.

Let me give you her affection,

Thy heart,

the most vulnerable part.

Take care,

embrace it, don’t let it bare.

Go on…. love,

do it pure, white as the dove.

Go on…. give,

shower him kisses, but save.

Cruel fate,

Lurking nearby…. you may taste.

Leave a kiss,

keep it, don’t let it be a tease.

He may stray,

but love will surely stay.

Yet still a mere mortal,

More trials still at hand,

Courage will not desert him.
The cold may gnaw him tonight.
Wounds may ceaselessly bleed.
Then all will come to pass.

Once they have their beauty,
colors of red and yellow.
Wonderful flowers to see,
over the peaceful meadow.

A gardener, the sun,
takes pride of their vibrancy.
He showers them with warmth.
he keeps them dry and sunny.

The sun loves his roses,
he gave them more of his gift.
Too much of his brightness,
his extreme passionate kiss.

Alas, simple roses,
trapped and caught in in immense heat,
have dried and turned to crisps.

Every novel has chapters.
Long and short divisions,
with beginnings and endings.
A truth for everything.

Some chapters are not their best,
We skip them for the next.
Others, some lovely read,
we never want to end.

Life has also chapters.
Beginnings and endings,
with unwanted periods,
and wholesome moments.

How we find it easy,
to let go of the bad times.
And difficult to rid,
of life’s conveniences.

It’s very frightening,
to wake up in a new world.
And quite depressing,
to see someone we love, go.

Yet, pleasant or bad chapters,
either has its own time.
Every chapter must come to an end,
for a new adventure to begin.
'Moving on to the next.'

He tells you, how pretty you are.
Like a budding rose,
exquisite and unique.
Some heart-warming lines.
You know what to do.

He says, he wants to talk to you.
Listen to your tale.
How your voice inspires him.
He’ll buy you anything.
You ask for a drink.

He speaks and raves about your looks.
Tells you, you’re special.
He is in love with you,
and wants to be with you.
You know his sort.

Such man has ways with his words
He could be a charmer,
who lies and cheats.
But never a bad man,
just a lost, lonely one.

An evil man is the one you love.
The one you’ll surely die for.
Yet never, he looks at you,
Doesn’t feel, never notices.

Criticism is a law of life,
and still, an awful price.
It speaks for the best of men,
and yet, crushes many dreams.
It is an excellent reminder,
for us to strive… work better.

We may never win, as we take the test.
We may please some, but never the rest.

Facing criticism may be tough.
We tend to break and lose all hopes.
Better think of trees,
bearing the most sweetest fruits.
And of little boys,
mischievous, hungry for sports.

but love to throw at trees bearing fruits.

I can hear their voices
Bewildered, in chaos
No more laughter, no more cajoling
My turn to sneer.

A lover has come
Poor soul, how they mock him
How they tease him
But, they wouldn’t dare tell him.

Go on find me!
I urge them
My lover waits
Grows impatient by the minute.

Pitiful being
He doesn’t feel
He doesn’t understand
My heart belongs to someone else.

My back aches
My heart hurts more
Ironies of life
Unfair, unjust!

Here I am trapped with him
When I should be with you
Yet, how would you know?
You have chosen another.

Frantic footsteps approaching
Angry, worried whisperings
Searching for me
I can only smile bitterly.

Go on find me!
Burn this place if you please!
Warm liquid in my eyes
My soul cries.

Life barbarism!
Man selects his woman as he desires
A woman waits to be seen
Why can’t a woman walk up to the man she pleases?

Easy talk below, assurances
Finally he is leaving
But, I won’t budge
Not just yet.

I’m in the solace of my own embrace
Let me dry my tears
That I can be stronger
To crawl out into the world once more.

Heart beating wild
Stomach aches
Her knees shake
She’s in terrible fright
Slowly, she lifts her fist
Onto the door, she knocks.

The urge to run
Part of her screams….
Decency!
She loses her color
But stands firmly by the door
Courage will not fail her!

It’s a mistake
Soon, her regret
She’s a fool!
Yet, who can blame this soul?
Waiting comes to an end
Finally, her heart speaks.

No promises
Some rejections
More heart-breaks
The yearning must be answered
Shattered spirit as it is
Love suffering must end.

She sees his face
Pure innocence
So naïve
How could he not notice?
I love you! Her soul weeps
Quivering, she spits the words.

Calm eyes of his

Agonizing heart beats
Awkward silence ….

How does he hold you?

Careful not to crush you?

She is no goddess,
not even a beauty.
Just a plain old lady,
yet see her face.
How her sweet smile,
enlightens someone’s heart.

He is no scholar,
not even a wise one.
An ordinary man,
yet he listens.
How his kind ears,
saves someone from peril.

They are no angels,
not ethereal beings.
See their feet on the ground,
yet, light bearers-
stars of the lost,
sanctuaries of the sad.

Not a mere mortal,
you are something divine.
Let your light touch their souls,
heed their soft cries,
open your heart.
You are a light bearer.

You like beautiful women,
I admire them too.
Yet, when I point out a guy,
You’ll say he is gay.
You snicker at my music.
You sneer at my books.
You mess up with my cell phone,
as if yours, not mine.

You love horrific movies.
I would take a peek.
We watched Titanic once,
you fell asleep.
You grimace at my hair cut.
You shun my cousins.
You pass up many parties,
and didn’t ask me.

They say we do not belong,
different and all.
Still, you held on to my hand,
revealed me the way.
You kissed my laughter and tears,
heeded my ramblings.
You sacrificed many things,
that I’ve love you more.

Bear with me, my beloved.
Come grow old with me.
We’ll have our differences,
and always our respect.
I desire your sarcasm.
I want your nonsense.
Because without them from you,
Never can I irritate you.

It started with one call
A silly girl’s prank
I shouldn’t have agreed
I have my decency.

You were fooled by my friend
Gave you a false name
She laughed with you at ease
I listened with such tense.

Suddenly, she was gone
The phone was in my hand
I heard your warm voice
Reluctantly, I spoke.

You didn’t realize
Didn’t seem to notice
It had been a tease
Thus, began a tale of lies.

Some things to clarify;
I am a lady
I have my dignity
I think myself highly.

But to hear you- a treat
To know you more- a gift
What am I to do?
You know I love you.

For every deception
I’d given up my soul
For every sweet lies
I’d swallowed my pride.

Caught in my own game
A web of my own making
My conscience haunts me
The truth must be free.

Will you love me for being me?

'Her love story - A young woman faces the consequences of her actions.'

Look at that lady,
she seems so happy.
Clutching a pink note,
she smiles and drives off.

A sweetheart awaits her,
her delightful lover.
Her past and her future,
today’s imperfection.

Love is in her face,
her lips, a sweet taste.
Her cheeks a faint blush,
her bright eyes, a hush.

She stops by a garden,
wild flowers of Eden.
Such magnificent sight,
marvelous as her heart.

A red rose she picks,
one of her favorites.
Unto it, she plants,
a tender loving kiss.

She heads off once more,
enjoying good thoughts.
Steady pace quickens,
heart pounding, she sprints!

She misses him dearly,
needs him very badly!
She wants his loving kiss,
his gentle, warm embrace!

Hot, longing tears stream down,
she sobs without a sound.
Before her a white tomb,
resting place of her love.

On her lover’s tomb,
she sets down the rose.
She takes out his note,
his last message of love.

A prayer she utters,
devotion of lovers.
Someday, another time…
To be together again.

My heart melts with his gaze,
quiet smiles of his.
He adores me.

His confident whispers,
Sweet tickles in my ears.
He confides in me.

Such a true gentleman,
my delightful romance.
He cares for me.

He writes my initials,
so unique and special.
He’s in love with me.

Alas, the truth unveils,
a beloved, he speaks.
She is not me.

The sweet smell of the grass,
and the still light of the moon.
Perfect moment for us.
Our special time alone.

Under the starlit sky,
we taste each other ’s lips.
How I melt in your embrace,
as the world remains asleep.

You whisper a secret,
dark and sinister, I hear.
Yet, your voice some music,
enigmatic to resist.

Thus, screams shatter the night,
foul, unspeakable curses.
As hooded men invade,
I hold on to your clutches.

Lover’s night into fight,
I yell, I weep and you claw
Alas, rivals have triumphed,
everything turns into black.

My heart bleeds as I wake,
finding no presence of you.
Murderous men have calmed,
beneath their feet – a demon!
'Under the lover's moon'.
