Heart beating wild
Stomach aches
Her knees shake
She’s in terrible fright
Slowly, she lifts her fist
Onto the door, she knocks.

The urge to run
Part of her screams….
Decency!
She loses her color
But stands firmly by the door
Courage will not fail her!

It’s a mistake
Soon, her regret
She’s a fool!
Yet, who can blame this soul?
Waiting comes to an end
Finally, her heart speaks.

No promises
Some rejections
More heart-breaks
The yearning must be answered
Shattered spirit as it is
Love suffering must end.

She sees his face
Pure innocence
So naïve
How could he not notice?
I love you! Her soul weeps
Quivering, she spits the words.

She looks at him
Calm eyes of his
No replies
Unreadable expressions
Agonizing heart beats
Awkward silence ….
'Every lover’s challenge.'
