Perilous dictation
Hammering the strings of consequence

Devils lullaby
Singing a song to never be written again

Deafened ears
Screaming for a peaceful rhythm

Beg, beg no more
For tomorrow shall never see today
Keep the applause to a dull roar
For an ovation shall not honor the pleas.

As the lights dim
And the curtains close
Gather your gaze to yesterday
For tomorrows answer cant be found today

Something?
Anything?
Nothing.

That's what I have today,
nothing.

But nothing
might be
something,

if seen a certain way.
Nothing is nothing, except room to grow.

It is too hot
for sleep to come easy
even a light sheet
is too much cover
I need you
to be my blanket
your arm laid over my waist
your breath my skins coverlet
your sweet love
the pillow
to cradle my restless mind

There is no god,
We know that now,
No righteous way,
No need to bow.

There's us and time,
And space galore,
Muons, quarks,
Sun-stars and more.

But meaning hides,
A shy allusion,
We pray with faith
And find delusion.
