Heart of Night
Mark Valent Feb 2019
Cold, as the night flows like fire in my veins
Pulsing like the wildest of heart beats
Floundering in violent rhythms of lust
Vigorous and filthy, dancing in the dark
Alive in the heart of night

Free, as aurora kisses the night sky
Glowing like a vehement warmth of euphoria
Compulsive, as the stars are shining vice
Howling in the mists of passion
Feeling a thrill, like on a great hunt
Where the drums are roarings of desire
Made out of violent delights
Laying on thunders of eternal love
Raving in the hug of moonlight
Alive in the heart of night.

at the end of narration
Mark Valent Aug 2020
from ground i understand the sky
stories flow and entwine
i know now
i do not have to chose right

from hunger i understand lust
the first drop of wine
tastes like the sweetest pleasure
and the last one like dust

from cold i understand warmth
lives sail in the seas of all
i take it in
and when its time i loosen the hold

in pain i understand joy
careless smiles are followed by tears
so i will cry
and never bother to close the door

in life i understand death
melodies are sung until they end
but when all is done
it is life i am terified i won't be able to comprehend

a pictureless frame
Mark Valent Aug 2020
i am growing weary, i am growing cold
i sleep in the day, at night i stare at the walls
i am growing shallow, i am not growing at all
like a small forest pond, in the season of draught

i am growing hollow, as if i forgot how to speak
out of my words nothing can grow, flowers on the sill whithering
i am growing thin, leaking out into the void
my body a waterless stream, an impression in the soil

i am growing still, i am growing silent
like a burned down forest, a songless monument
i am growing thin, i am growing vain
like a watered down paint, a pictureless frame
