Standing alone in silence, on a cliff made of diamonds,
I look down at the world and see it for what it truly is.
The sick grow weary, children starve on the street,
the rich grow mighty, the poor continue to beg at their feet.
The world leaders continue to speak, filling the pockets of the elite,
with each drop of innocent blood, our humanity grows bleak.
All alone I watch in silence, as the innocent are slaughtered;
since the beginning of time, mankind has chosen to live in darkness, where they stay mesmerized day after day.

Holding hands with a child, I look deep into her eyes,
I see a beautiful creation, I see a magnificent light.
Then we rose into the heavens and joined the legion of innocent lives.
Standing alone in silence, I watch the diamonds in the sky.

stupid boy,
i hope you know what you're getting into
because by uttering those three simple words,
you have managed to own me
you were able to take the guitar from my hands
and make me the one to listen

stupid boy,
I hope you are gentle and careful
because by making me feel secure in your arms,
my world is now situated in your hands
and one wrong twitch of your fingers
may touch a crack
which will break me even more

stupid boy,
i hope you're ready to be awoken from your deep slumbers
and know how to comfort a crying girl
because you'll have to hold me,
as I shake and sob at 2 am
from the nightmares
caused by the monsters in my head

stupid boy,
i hope you're ready to listen
because with the way you can make me sway with your words,
poetry will be flowing out of my mouth
like a waterfall of letters
a whirlpool of emotions in every phrase

stupid boy,
i hope you won't have second thoughts
or just simply run away
because when you strip me of all the glamourous facades
you'll see fresh battle wounds
the body of your beloved is a warzone scattered with bullets

stupid boy,
i hope you're not easily disgusted by grime
because the skin that you want your lips upon is filth
and the cracks on my body may be bleeding
please clean these patches of dirt
and fill the emptiness which is my whole being

stupid boy,
i hope you know that you fell in love with a broken girl
because I'm not like those pretty ones in the movies
my skin is blood-stained and my face is tear-soaked
i have no idea on what love feels like
and to give it back in return
so please give me time to learn

stupid boy,
i hope you're good with words
because every day i am going to ask you
"why me?"
and i need you to make me understand
explain to me in detail
why you settled for a girl like me
when you could have gone for so many others
the ones who don't need fixing
or assurance that they are beautiful
unlike how i am

stupid boy,
i hope you know that this stupid girl loves you too
even though i'll never really understand
why you chose me
or how i can return back the same amount of love that you make me feel,
i want you to know
that if the only reason we're together
is because we're stupid,
then we'll be idiots forever
Sleep well in the sun, my London love
I count the days 'til I hear your voice
You hate the way they push and shove
But smile like you have a choice

Don't go in the black, my lonely child
You won't find solace there
I know your mind must be running wild
But stay and breathe the air

Find me in the crowd, my ghostly star
I'm not brave enough to call your name
You wouldn't hear from worlds so far
And I'm too tired to play this game

Be good to yourself, my never friend
Take shelter when clouds threaten your skies
Don't let them hurt you in ways that won't mend
I can't stand the lost look in your eyes

Run free with your brothers, my laughing sun
Know that you light up the earth
I pray that you won't be an unlucky gun
'Cause you're firing with all that you're worth

Safe travels in the moonlight, my London love
I spend sleepless nights dreaming of you
You hate the things you can't rise above
But laugh like they're nothing to you
So get out, get out, get out of my mind
And come on, come into my life

My house will be filled with the things that I love;
Goldfish, dandelions,
Green sofas, Greek mythology,
Books of psychology.
Books. Lots of books with lots of words.
Multiple copies of the really good books too.
All stacked to the ceiling
on bookshelves adequate to
The height of the house
All equivalent to
My love of the place I’ll call home.
A sock monkey here or there,
pillows and throw blankets.
Pictures of Lake Louise, and a souvenir
If I’m ever lucky enough to go there.
I will print poetry, frame it, put it on my walls.
My walls will be yellow gray and blue,
I will have a boombox with speakers that go BOOM
(but at night it will sing me to sleep
with many sweet lullabies).
And it’s music will fade to the sound of voices
Voices of people I love and admire
Who can walk through the door,
of the place I aspire
To make my own,
To share and not waste
With the precious presence of others
And their ideas
And hopes and dreams
So if you aren't a thing I love,
You have to leave.
I’ll probably have a lot of lamps too.

I am making a desicion
to clean my body of
your hollow whispered bruises
cracks in my diaphragm
your words left sizzling there
like acid that dripped from your lips
I forgot the deception that swam from your eyes
I have never been stupid
enough to believe
that you were only one
when there were three.
But we stood and watched that house burn
never feeling colder,
than we did that night.
Im sorry your brother died and took
your parents with you.
So you are an orphan that
demonstrated car crashes
in the mere rhythm of your hands
or melody of your speech.
But I find myself drawn to angry cobalt blue eyes
too often enough to know that
I cannot grapple out of your choke-hold
and frozen fingers will bruise me every shade of your
roaring ocean-like blue.
I can only admire the sapphire in your soul from a distance
and hope the red ruby rage turns to wine and not blood.
I have left my marks on too many wooden floorboards, pleaded with too many icy aquamarine eyes;
from boys with steel in their voices but a fury in their hearts.
Too many fingernails stuck between infinite spaces somewhere in houses
where the silence reminded me of the stillness of a teal lake in spring
your eyes are reminiscent of a grey morning I do not wish to remember
I will leave a mark here.
