Tattoos? I have a tattoo. It was given to me by the North Koreans, when they shot me in the arm. When I wiggle it, I can make it dance, I mean cry, and I cover it up so no one sees it. These kids today pay to scar up their faces! What's next, selling water in a can?

Above the waves, fish-eagles circle,
eyes scan the moving water plane,
lashing sea waves, blanket of cover,
shoals of fish, swim below in mirth.
Within fraction of a second,
a sea change, secret window opens
two eagle eyes sense a change in dynamics,
swoops down,
a lightening strike,
one fish that made a wrong move,
rides between the claws to its grave.

Sometimes with the Heart
Seldom with the Soul
Scarcer once with the Might
Few—love at all.

Through this sunset maze
colours stain directionless
... a beautiful Sky.

Layers upon layers,
flaking residue...
scraping at the inner walls of my heart,
priming the ruins of my disassembled dreams while
masking off all hope of bleeding out or bleeding on

“Dare I bleed in the color of missing you?”

Scratches filled in with crayon,
vacant hues...
only on or outside of the lines of love
Woeful stick figures dancing to a lonely song,
played by the empty roller lashed to my hand

“Would you dare touch my handprints....smear them?”

Minutes take hours to pass, but who cares,
Que Sera Sera...
the old Zenith finds Doris Day happy,
nice someone can be
stirring a smile within a gallon of semi-(g)loss

“Why is the sale brand in barren tones?”

I cringe at the thought of another moment in this position,
base boards...
bent over and touching up,
flat lining without an edge,
waiting for your touch, your tinted smile...waiting your approval

Midnight walk
clear my thoughts
right from my head
the road looks clean
I walk there instead

Standing in the midst
Of what was a busy intersection
I think ill close my eyes                    open
Praising the sun in the dead of night
Why do i feel so alive?

Only now may I see
How acquainted the sun is with the stars
I used to think it must be so lonely shining up there
as a tree might feel
Towering above the grass in a large field

Or me lying in the street
praying these machines I hear
will just let me be
No matter what I do
This is what sets me free

Resting on my back
in a concrete jungle
yet somehow flying.
Oh midnight walk
this is not the end,

*we shall meet again

Sun shimmering blue and cold
praise the sun!
Clandestine meetings of silver and gold
Mother of the fortunate child
Shouting the sounds of silence
Sitting and wondering what race is god!
While found and forgotten similes speak volumes
Into deaf ears
So we watch silent movies
Critiquing the way people looked
Cautious of the false deities that seek to enslave the sheep
In the same instant the bold and brave dance alongside the noble stars
Waiting for the cats and dogs to rise up
And inherit the earth,
With forsaken celestial beings
Disregarding their responsibility to salvage
All that breathes lies.
We can wait until today's tomorrow
Because theres more beauty in simplicity
than there is simplicity in beauty.
