Truth

I know you hear the rumours
I know you hear the lies
Painted my face
I'm in that place
You can't reach
Because the flame
Turned into a fire
And someone's bound
To get blamed
I'm ****** to get burnt
But I refuse to be ashamed
Because I did nothing wrong
And the truth does not need a tongue

Deep gut wrenching agony
Pulled from the core within me
Its hard. It hurts.
Bursts of pain
Flood over
Into a thousand tears
And there's no sign of it emptying
Automatic refills
I didn't ask for any of it
Where do I withdraw
Back out and tape caution
Do Not Enter
There is no emergency exit
And I'm drowning myself
I guess I'll just wait it out
Till the tears overflow
No more sobbing
Lying curled up on the floor
I'll be forced to sit up
Waist deep
Stand up
Then shoulder length
And I'll be forced to swim
Float in a sea of misery
Beneath me
Until the salty tears
Becomes water that flows
Under the bridge
Giving way to where
The plenty more fishes would swim

I Pray

Sometimes I forget
Sometimes I don't see the point
Sometimes I want to
Sometimes I need to
Sometimes it works
The calming effect washes over me
Peace and serenity
Divine light and blessing
When my prayers get answered
I feel special
Sometimes it doesn't work
I must have done something wrong
Maybe I forgot to say amen
Sometimes I'm desperate
Sometimes I feel like I'm on a waiting list
And time is running out
But when they reach my savior
He'll surely make it worth it
Everyday
Every moment
Every second
Every minute
Every hour
Every breath
Every action
I spend in hope
Looking at the signs
And tugging on that rope
I pray for forgiveness
For the times I forgot
I pray in gratitude
For all that was lent to me
I pray for you, I pray for me
For world peace
And the end of poverty
Showers of mercy
To never be tempted by the 7 deadly sins
I pray to fulfil the commandments
Pray to serve and aim to please
Be a favoured amongst He
I pray to redeem

This is our land
We will fight to keep
Fight to live
For this land
We weep

O wanderer ask me
Ask this land
Whose am I?
For I am no one's
You are mine

This is how it rolls
The young one's are the first to go
Innocent
Lifted before they live

Souls destined for paradise
Beautiful
Fairies and Angels on loan
Some fly before they are born

Shadows in photographs
Linger
Limited by time
Whisper soft love

Baby scents
And the ghost warming your lap
Tiny hands
Curled around your finger

Hold on tight
You were never meant to have her
She's a gift that'll be returned
Leaving us all to mourn

But rejoice that
Even just for that moment
She was yours
You were a mother

The best that could be
And you loved her
More than anyone could see
But God needed his cherub

More than you and me
Barely there
Dreams
Of what could have been

Hold on tight
Let the light she lit
Grow
Let it spread

The bittersweet perfection
Of how she enchanted
And the goodnight kiss
You pressed against her forehead

Now she's just something
We ain't got
Our favourite person
Who's not where we are

All we want is what we had
But she's moved on
And we'd trade it all to get her back
But she's happy where she's at

Peace

Its not just the absence of war
It is Living, Learning and Changing
Peace
Will be when tanks become homes
And old grenades are cups that are used to sip water
Peace is when shades of green are only worn by nature
It will be when the fences no longer divide us
Its the calmness in one's heart
The brightest blue skies
Accompanied with the softest innocent clouds
Peace is when nature is uncorrupted
And reality is not distorted
Its natural beauty
Not chemical deformity
Nor the extinction of humanity
Peace is hope
Its life
Its love
Its faith
Peace is the content feeling
Of knowing you're safe

You messed with my head
     My head is a mess.
You messed with my world
     My world is a mess.

   I am a mess.
A mess of mindless self-indulgence
Minus the indulgence

I am the essence of egoism
The epitome of selfishness
The
              upper
                                  echelon
                                                                 of arrogance
The meaning of ignorance

I have
                     become
                                     you
But still
                    I wait
                                        for you
Because
            I
                            adore you.

longingly we challenge the darkness
inside, opening up to rid the soul of every little
gust of evil thought patterns
honestly holding on, knowing the truth will lead us
towards happiness of white tranquility
