The Piano

Graceful melodies sweet
Shiny white keys and shiny black keys
Playing out the majestic beauty
Of melody
Gracefully playing as if
Lost in another world
One full of instruments
And of melody
Each song
Owns beauty
And I know
That I'll probably
Never learn all the pieces
That I would love to learn
Especially
Those lovely but hard to learn
Classical pieces

Broken Pearls

Once, they rode strong on the plains
Before conquistadors bent their will.

Strained their backs, cracked their whips
Made them wear strange hides and speak strange tongues.

Refrain:
But when the time is right
To turn the tide
But not without great loss
To turn the tide!

Part II:
Come again, oh strong one
Strengthen your will, stand tall
Remember the Lost Ones and the glory!

Restore freedom in your heart
Replenish well your table, love the earth
Ride free again and tell your story!

Pick up your arrow, shoot it straight (x2)

Forced to swallow all the shame
And leave dying ashes and broken pearls

So once, they rode strong on the plains
But now, there's dying ashes and broken pearls

Broken pearls
Broken pearls.....
Just a few words on mental decolonising.....maybe.

Modern take on the Pocahontas tale.

you promised*
And so did I.
We both broke it
Though
And I'm so sorry
That I lied.

Afflicted

He knows it when I'm in pain,
He knows the blood that runs through my veins.

He knows it when I am ill,
He treats me with a thousand pills.

He knows my body and it's curves,
He comforts me with much love..

He is the one who treats,
God is  the one who heals,
Yet he's more than a doctor,
He's the flickering ray of hope in my ordeal....
I'm afflicted with chicken pox.. So, lying in bed,I just scribbled this out!

Take me to the ocean blue,
Let me dive right into,
Take a glimpse of the world underneath,
Amidst the pristine,azure waters...

Let the waves flow all over me,
And take me to the world of sea,
Where, for miles and miles there's only blue,
And the sun happily smiles down at you.

What makes the sea so alluring,
Is it the cool waters,
Or the waves that dash against the shore,
Maybe, it's nymphs, corals, magic, and much more !

Face it

fallen, i have crawled in
the rounded purple bay
stallin', crestfallen
your fingers so far away.
from my hair,
my cheeks,
the tears that tickle my lips.
defeated, twenty feet in
the cave that holds my drum.
beaten, wholly unsweetened
honesty dolled up
rolled up
covered in a velvet scroll
sinful, cinnamon smell
of the smoke
that fills both of our lungs.

a borrowed line

the light fades at the end of the day.
it always has.

since I've arrived, I've been seeing sunset skies,
but you're never with me when the day ends.
you were never with me at all.

I'm starting to believe that I don't know all the answers, never have.
I don't know who's writing this book, but they wrote me in as lonely.

I fade so slowly I can almost believe I'm alive,
my favorite part of living will always be the morning sky.
I spend my evenings sleeping while the sun escapes me,
and flies off to California, leaving me in bed.

I couldn't hate you, I'm dying slow.

I weigh 68 kilos right now,
But I must cut 3 more kilos.

Then I'll be fitter with my body more defined,
But - I don't intend to become a bodybuilder.

I don't just want to tighten my body's muscles,
I want to make sure there is not any loose skin.
I stand 70 inches tall, so my BMI is just about fine and I'm not anywhere near fat; but still I need to rip my body.
