betterdays
sitting in the sun,
with double-shot latte,
cooling in my hand.

i watch, a gangling youth, barely yet, a man.
fold his heart,
into a paperboat
and set it sail,
on the sea of  love.

destined for a young
maiden's land.....

he sails forth,
on the winds of hope
and mooning, soulful  looks.

she oblivious,
to his approach.
engrossed, in the book
at hand....

will they meet...
their hearts entwine,
will fates allow...
this sea of love is large...
will they love...
this, i will not, ever know.
...they, are not students of mine..

just two,
of  several thousand,
...that sit in the sun and dream...

but that moment,
when he...launched
his ship of hope
and lust...of the wanting,
youthful kind...
....o, my lord... that look....
love caught...in the,
totality, of it's prime.

Her nickname
Was always
Gaia with a y.

And she was.
Dancing; not so much
Reasoning.

All feeling. Analysis,
Not so much.
Me, a petard of adrenaline and

Testosterone -short fused with
Whisky and blunt logics- by
Which I found myself

Hoist with ruthless regret.
All man.
All human

Man.
We merged until we
Emerged, passing through

Each other and moving
On. Two forces of nature
Embracing.

With a broad
Enough
Perspective,

Everything
Looks
Beautiful.

you visit this disused Olde Gaol
remote, renowned
250 years old and now a musuem;
and rumoured to be haunted

you love the thrill but fear meeting
a ghost,  the one said to make
unexpected appearance in this prison
"I love the excitement," you tell the guide
"but I'd die if I met one"

The guide pooh-poohs your suggestion
and says: "In all my time here
I have yet to see a ghost"

"And how long," you ask, "have you
worked here?"

And the guide answers: *"245 years"
...last of the poem in my ghost poems series...

Oblivious of the surrounding darkness
The fireflies light up, to dispel it
Dancing around in complete ecstasy
Penetrating through the obscurity
The fireflies have defeated the night
As if stars have descended on Earth
Waking us from a slumber, to join the party*

Your Poetry

I wish to delve into your poetry
and weave among the words,
walk silently between the lines
sit by pauses incase I'm heard

I want to immerse myself in your phrases
stand tall with the titles you choose,
hide behind the metaphors
myself, I want to lose

I need to lay among the romance
rest my head upon your heart,
listen to your soft whispers
and just watch as you pen your art

I wrote your name in the clouds,
But, the wind blew it away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
But, the waves washed it away.
I wrote your name in my heart,
     And forever it will stay.
Heal thyself poet
let words be your salve
let loose your longing
set free your sadness

Let them run wildly
over salt-damp parchment
Let them wail at the moon
and weep silently in corners

Throw them to the wolves
that your pain may sustain them
For it has nourished you
long enough

Let it all go.
Let it wrench from your soul
with glorious abandon
Let it scream from your lungs
Let it bleed through your skin

It matters not that you are broken,
that your scattered pieces hold no form
Only that you are here.

So write, dear poet.
Heal thyself.
I was asked why I write.....
