Inside my eyelids
I see you smile
Smiling meanwhile
I'm thinking about you

A seed sprouting
Is what I feel
Feeling so real
I'm thinking about you

Like catchy music
In my mind you lay
Laying all day
I'm thinkig about you
I hear her name - I am numb
into my ears,
for when i hear it , i hold back my tears.
not cause Im hurt, not cause I fear
but cause i only wish i could have her here.
to breathe, to see ,to smell,
to bring me back the way i felt.
cause feelings, emotions they are what keep you alive.
lately though its been a struggle - im not gonna lie.

its those moments you live for, the moments that bring you back.
to the time, to the place but you're already losing track
of the time you had left, should have done more..
the feeling of drowning as you look to the shore,
covered in the shiny black sand- there she stood
id do anything to be in that moment ,anything,if i could.

cause you see, when you lose someone,no - not just someone, you lose yourself
and for the rest of your life you're lost, helpless.
the only way to find yourself is in the memories you've made
engraved in your heart -these moments
these smells,these thoughts,these feelings,emotions.
everything that connects you dont let it out of your site.

cause once you do, once you forget,
her name is really numb,
and she really is
gone.

her name i vow i will never take lightly, cause **** she was a woman whose name
was never ment to be
numb.
I don't remember, any more,
The exact shape of your hands
As I held them in mine,
Caressed them,
Memorized the length of your fingers,
The depth of your calluses.

I don't remember, any more,
Exactly your height, how much
Taller than me
You were, where
My head rested on your chest
When you held me tightly close.

I don't remember, any more,
Your scent, when we lay together
Creating our own
Magic rhythm,
Matching our heartbeats as we
Touched the sky, together.

I don't remember, any more,
The sound of your voice, calling
My name as though
It were a song
Within itself, a precious treasure
You valued with all your being.

And I don't remember, any more,
The color of your eyes, the shape
Of your lips,
Only...
How your eyes crinkled at the corners
And your laugh, as you told me,

"I love you."

The day was hot, the hours long.
I couldn't wait to go home.
Covered in sweat, from toiling outside,
I was reeking of sandy loam.

The clothes dropped off on my way in,
I could hardly wait to shower.
The faucets running at top speed,
It would take more than solar power.

The steam rose up, the water poured,
At last! I found some bliss.
Scrubbed until I was glowing pink,
Not an inch of flesh I'll miss.

Finally calm, I relaxed a bit,
The vanilla scent made me smile.
My hair was clean, I felt brand new.
Now to get perky for a while.

Turbanned hair gave my eyes a lift.
I just knew my face would glow.
As I sashayed in my fluffy towel,
To the mirror, I turned to show.

As I wiped the mirror, so I could see,
I started in surprise!
Surely, THAT couldn't be me!
But, yep, the same green eyes.

The temporary face lift fell,
The cat-eyes started to droop.
Dreading to take the body towel off,
Fearing the rest just looked like ****!

My oh my, where did it go?
That *** that looked so fab!
My age crept in when I was asleep,
And, turned me all to flab!

This poem was a challenge from another poet...she started the title, we had to write the poem based on it.
Please make some space for me, my friend,
in your exhausted soul.
Allow others a chance to know you,
So that you may soon be whole.

Please make some space for me, my friend,
I want inside, you see?
You have so much to give the world,
Please offer some to me.

Shake off all your troubles,
Throw weariness away!
Breathe among the living,
Say all you're scared to say!

True, it takes some effort,
and lust for life you lack,
But try, please try, my dear friend,
to take your passion back.
