Troubled is the soul,
put on hold.
Stuck in transition,
limbo without permission.

Broken into pieces,
shattered in fact,
fallen off track,
down the not so beaten path.

Cold in the bones,
grown weary and old.
Fragile and weak,
and quite frankly, meek.

I feel for you poor soul,
for your life has been sold.
Sold for nothing more,
than three stones, maybe four.

Or a cheap Sunday *****?
One better than the last,
one with a vicious, broken past,
one picked out of the trash.

The years go on and on and on,
on repeat, like a bad song,
and you can't help but feel blue,
trapped in transition, without a clue.

You hold on to a battered past,
like the *****, you feel like trash,
cast aside in the waiting room,
gun to your head, your life is ruined.

And all because,
you never gave enough.

Isn't life tough?

I
had
thought
y o u  w e r e
worth every star
in a country sky but
you do  not  deserve my
hardest laughs, my lightest
fingers, my early morning
grouchiness. I  u s e d  to
believe   y o u   were
the  whole  entire
w  o  r  l  d  .
I have a lot of small thoughts that I'm trying to turn into one, cohesive thought. Sorry for this tiny madness.

Oh mother and father
remember when I was a little boy
so lost in my imagination as I played with toys
Oh those were the days
those were the days

I'm driving my car and I'm thinking of you
I roll my window down and look up at the moon
Remember the days when we were young
playing in the sprinklers just for fun

(Chorus)
Oh those were the days
Days when life was easy and beautiful

Talking to myself like a mad man what do I do
to help me set the voices free inside of me
do you hear the voices too

I'm driving without a destination
without a destiny
I'm sliding the dial on the radio station
On the radio station
Maybe I will find a song I like
one that makes me see the light

(chorus here)

We are angels falling to the ground we land
and we live our life in the imagination
Everybody will dance and sing
we'll hold each other in celebration
We will always be so true and free
we're children in a dream

Oh I don't know where I've been going
life is like a boat slowly rowing away
I know I'm not alone so hold my hand and sing along

(chorus here)

Mother and father
do you remember when I was a little boy

We are young we are happy all the girls and boys

I'm driving my car and I'm thinking of you
I roll my window down and look up at the moon

You are not 21, college did not grant you 3 more years of life. Please be careful, this is my body too.
2. If you have come across beautiful minds to explore, don't be so quick to build a home yet. Start with a tent. And if they help you pitch it, things will be less likely to unravel.
3. On the first day, pack up your tent just in case. Because you are never the only being in a forest.
4. Don't bring a map, build one. Ask to explore the mountains and valleys and hills of them. Tell them it's for your geography project.
5. Don't really have a geography project.
6. When you come across a river, there will be no bridge. Others who have traveled here have probably turned back. Shock them, and swim.
7. People may try to stop you, but remember they may be the ones who don't know how to continue. Not everyone you meet is a blessing.
8. Not everyone you lose is a loss.
9. Listen to your mom, she's been through this before. Even though you are characteristically different, college is always the same.
10. If you find yourself missing someone who doesn't miss you, remind yourself that that is not love, that's co-dependence.
11. The difference between love and co-dependence is that one of them will burn you.
12. Love will never start the fire.
13. You don't need to be an architect to build your walls around you. Some people will tell you that you need blue prints but my father never once looked at directions and he created your home.
14. Don't bring the problems of your home with you. Nobody wants to see those shackles. Find the key, unlatch yourself, and run.
15. I know you are tired, but this is the way.
16. Keep your room clean. The clothes on your floor hold on to stress. If you keep everything in order, life will stay intact.
17. Know when to speak. Sometimes words are not as necessary as actions.
18. Step in love with yourself because if you fall, that means you have to find strength to get back up. Always keep yourself upright.
19. You are a universe in yourself, a crowded nebula of light. It's okay to get lost in yourself, because you will be immersed in the stars.

~

I opened a book today
and then it opened me
The truest of things
need not to be written,
nor do those things
need to be said;

however, it can do some good
to openly acknowledge them,
for we all seem to get rather lost
within our own heads.
Science and Religion are imperfect institutions;
we can neither perceive nor understand most of what goes on.
And yet, life goes on.

Drinking summer skin,
I hear the voices in the night sky
I'm a slave to the darkness around the stars,
and I can't remember why

One, two, twenty-three percocet in my soul.
Ambulance lights breathing throughout the mist.
Pump my stomach like the sawed-off shotgun
that I was too afraid to use,
because what if I 'miss'?
What spectrum of desolation to be traced with lips;
to kiss away the desire to exist.

Mirrored reflection injection causes the resurrection of my imperfection.
I see me for who I am, who I was, and who I won't be.
It's the collection of
my eyes dilating and my knees speculating their arrival
to the blue and white tiling disguised as neo-survival.
My mind is evaporating. My body begins to convulse.
I am a ghost in a machine. I am without a pulse
Life, so magnificent,
so glorious,
so rare,
would you find yourself in me?

I think and I feel,
but is that enough?
Or do I think too much,
and not feel enough?

We all think we are living,
but being alive is not all we think.
It's what we do with this life,
what we do while we're alive,
that makes this life live.

Look at yourself,
and think,
is there life in me?
Not are you alive,
or are you living,
but is there adventure,
beauty,
an infatuation with love?
Is there music,
is there motion,
is there poetry,
is there art?

Are you full of life,
or are you just living?

Feel the energy,
all around you,
waiting to be set free.

Feel the life,
all around you,
let it consume thee.

Let there be adventure,
let there be beauty,
may you be infatuated with love.
Let there be music,
poetry in motion,
let there be art inside and out.

Let there be life,
let there be life.
