Tick Tock
Kayla Nieto Dec 2015
Tick Tock
The mouse ran up the clock
The fish swam up the dock
Tickety tickety tock
I don't know how to talk
The only things I say
Are thoughts that someone gave
Me, I don't speak for my thoughts
They riot
Underrepresented
They riot
They're turning on me
I'm not doing them justice
They scream on me
They shout
"Let us go"
"We want you to speak us"
But I don't know how to talk
"I can't, I can't"
I tell them
They ignore me like I ignore them
Tick tock
Back and forth I rock
Sanity is a casualty of freedom

Pros and Cons
Kayla Nieto Dec 2015
I strongly dislike you.
I strongly dislike shoe.
I strongly dislike boo.
There's nothing that I strongly like.
Except for blike.
And ****.
And shrike.
But that's all nonsense.
Words made up.
Why do the good things never rhyme?
We all run out of time.

The Gingerbread Man
Kayla Nieto Dec 2015
You can't catch me
Even when you do, I slip through
the fingers you can never close.
You can grab pieces of my clothes
But never in its entirety
To catch me you have to outrun me
But it's an unlikely feat
I have yet to witness
But I have no interest in doing so
I always win
Remember that
I'll tease too
My clothes will hit the floor
But they're always in my grip
And out of yours

Shift.
Kayla Nieto Nov 2015
They thought.
They thought I was just like them.
They thought that while they talked about boys I would care.
They thought I had a boyfriend.
I told.
I told them I was different.
I told them I could still listen to them talk about boys.
I told them I had a girlfriend.
They felt.
They felt that I was an alien.
They felt that I was a freak.
They felt they could never speak near me again.
They felt I should go to hell for my love.
I spread.
I spread love.
I spread acceptance.
I spread the idea that we could coexist.
I spread the love that I felt for my girlfriend.
They accepted.
