I tell my secrets to children
in the form of fairy tales
A "Once upon a time," is enough
to quiet down their wails
and I spin stories as well as spiders
weaving webs that a lost child
must navigate the tangled trails
with cleverness and wit
sharper than any sword
more accurate than any arrow
I speak of children who questioned
the established path of rejection
and this misguided idea of reciprocity,
"You must suffer because it happened to me."
Because my blessing in life was not brute strength
but a clear mind and clever tongue.
I tell my secrets to children
so that they may grow smarter because of them.

Go
Success is for the taking;
Limits are for the breaking.
Spirits free,
Chains we flee
History for the making.

Why do we fear to fail;
Remaining weak and pale?
Comfort zone
Monotone
Safety we entail.

Instead we should be strong
Enduring all day long
Bold and brave
Freedom we crave
Singing life's theme song

Go.

I have a Sapphic longing

I want to feel your lips
so soft
pink and plump

stroak your hair
so long
dark brown and curly

caress your skin
so smooth
freckled and delicate

But you would never love me
you barely know I exist.

so I will continue to sit here
in the dark

with nothing but my Sapphic longing.

I do not remember days
Only nights without stars
And fragile paper moons.

How out of tune I am,
like a guitar that has gone so long unplayed
that the strings have lost their tautness
and begun to sing
in discordant, bellied wails.

lemon lies and lavender love
lovely and lascivious
with lolling grace and languid liquidity
slaking lust
longing
licking
lemon lies and lavender love
