a luscious dawn stirred, his arrow was on fire
he went in quest of delight, vigorous was his desire

among the ruffled sheets, a delicious fruit lay
flaxen hair ever so bright, fueled his amorous desire

the mercury rose in his veins, he kissed he hungrily
with an ardor of might, strongly expressing his desire

his feasting spree was unrestrained, her gems were so enticing
more comely than any twilight, he was a pyre of desire

at commencement of day, he partook of bonfire passion
engaging her in a flaming light, powerful were his coals of desire
I'm no good at writing poetry
so this flop shall find another hobby
words aren't where my talents lie
so I'm kissing the world of poetry goodbye

there will be no one missing my crap
they'll be pleased that I've turned off the tap
my writing desk shall be thrown out
for I'll not want it hanging about

my creative mind can take a long rest
as I'll no longer be at a stanza's behest
the writing game has lost it's appeal
crook poets like myself must get real

composition offerings shall cease to-day
as one is putting one's pick permanently away
the end has most assuredly turned up
it is time for me to finally pack up
Sun
this morn in my part of the world
the sky is brighter than a blue eyed girl
it radiates a beaming smile
all over our country miles

we're bathing in a stream of blue light
tis truly a beautiful sight
our landscape blessed with a golden decor
we couldn't ask for anything more
I Am Like My Mother

In more ways than one,
I am like my mother....
This stands before anything else:
My family is my priority
I preach to respect seniority
But, sometimes I go soft
Upon hearing pleas from little voices.

My life is replete with family albums,
Sturdy wood furnitures that have lived
Through the years, and most importantly,
Old family traditions my siblings and I
Learned from my mother.
I would prefer for these to be observed
By the succeeding generations,
Where love and kindness to others,
Table manners and saying graces are only
A few of those lessons most often stressed.

The children in my family,
Thy grew up the way I was raised.
Humility is practiced at an early age,
Where no child speaks when not spoken to,
And helping with  the chores is a must...
They are taught early on in their childhood
As soon as they are able to understand...
We have a God, our Creator,
To whom we should always be grateful to....
From Him comes all our countless blessings...

My sisters and I...
We are like a sorority.
Hopefully, the other women in my family
Would eventually realize,
There is an expectation
That my mother's ways should be kept going...
This, my sisters and I would make sure of.

Each morning, my mother would look around
The whole house and its boundaries,
With both her arms akimbo.
Now, it is I who does the surveying,
But, with my hands clasped behind me.
Front, back and sides of the house
All kinds of plants and trees surround...
I make sure they are all green and lush.
Fruit trees and flowering plants in the summer,
Several wild flowers do sprout all year round,
To grace our lives through all kinds of weather.

My mother and I, we had an implied agreement,
We didn't discuss it, never brought it up
In any family gatherings.
It just happened that I knew her so well.
Now that I'm older, I've never been so sure...
I am like my mother,
In more ways than one...

there is always
a beyond
because Someone already went before you
Somewhere South they are burying
what's left of their three year old daughter, meanwhile
the fisherman hasn't found tools to mend his hut and his heart, and
there is a boy who doesn't understand what the
big white men do to him every night, but
he gets money out of it anyway.

I'd already bled oceans for them the night before.

Sometime between dawn and yesterday morning
they were swept away by torrents
I knew they would be.
I swore they would be, so
when I found their bodies by the broken road,
I didn't shed a single tear.

I'd already bled oceans for them the night before.

But now I rest in the thought that
You are cleansing this place.
The pain is immense, but if that's what it'll take
do what You must
just
cleanse this place.
Remember that waters cleanse. Typhoon Yolanda did not bring pure destruction. Our nation is undergoing cleaning up.
