You make me smile in your ever lost misery
And sleep as sound as a dry riverbed once purred
Words that reveal
That heal
And just make the final seal for my prayers
As I look to the God's as I kneel
I'm gay
I'm straight
I'm as bent as the next partner I feel
I am what I am
Hence, goodbye

And sigh......

Nothing ever really makes any sense. Does it?
John Bartholomew May 2018
It was never right to begin with but where did it all go wrong
A handful of friends, most funny, trustworthy, crisscrossing this road which is long
Now I seem to be let down by the few
A trust now fading that used to be strong

Was it something I said? Was it something I did? Conversations a sentence now hummed
Have I become something I've not yet noticed, a strange kind of soul, now on the beat to a different drum?
Whatever it is, it seems that I have lost my fizz
Friends now follow a different trail, now led by tastier crumbs

As I have grown my tastes now differ
This boat now feels half empty as I sail down a different river
I'm not unhappy, maybe I am just coursing a whole new map
As thoughts now flow freely, but from a disparate tap

I don't know and maybe I never really will, it seems that I have lost my fun
Maybe I live to far away, or maybe they think I'm gay? No kids at 38, oh, hello matron
But believe me I'm not, though I can see a man who's hot
I think I'll just be him, in that chair, yeah, the wheelchair one.

Lonely on a summers night at home
A touch, a laugh, sick of being alone
No number to fill this space on his mobile phone
That card he found on the bench in the park
As random as throwing a picked up stone
Working every hour that this God sends
A TV life has it's perfection, everybody has a friend
Maybe it's authors have yet to meet a man like me
A space yet to comprehend
She sounds nice on the call but that's how it's supposed to be
The perfect girl would never just fall from the nearest tree
Money in the wall for a stack of our queens head
Cash only my love for these knickers on the floor and 10 minutes in your bed
Life has it's imperfection and for these he's sometimes flawed
But your only here once and a long time dead,
6 feet under Earths floor,

Poem of a Lonely Man.

A new roundabout
On the edge of town
Ten new shops to enliven their frowns

Costa Coffee or a Starbucks to entice the local folk
But where did it come from as built in a flash
As just yesterday it was but a local gap

McDonalds, B&M along with a Home Sense
No builders on scene as they are erected overnight
The real trades of the world now taken over by factory plight

Lets build, let's shop as their skills now no longer needed
Prefabbed in a factory somewhere downtown where these are now all seeded

As we don't care as long as the shopper is well catered for
Making our millions along with the rest
We see the dollar as our new friend and the internet our second best

For we also love the pound as we are the megabuck rich
In another life we were really all just ******
Loving the life of a millionaire with the tradesmen now feeling just broke and sore

If hell hath no fury like a woman scorned then trades are next in line
For we see our money as the devil incarnate
And this time round we really could not wait

The world is spinning into a colossal whirlwind of desire and scorn
Our allegiances are narrowly sewn into paper now easily torn
As it doesn't matter what you are taught its to whom you are now to born

Money makes the world go round as it was also Prefab made
He has a million others all spinning around
For we are all some Gods slave

THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL WAITING ON PLATFORM 3. YOUR TRAIN IS CURRENTLY RUNNING 30 MINUTES LATE. WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

Oh great.
And this to make up for always being late.
Maybe its fate.
A love that was never meant to be.
Something that only the Gods of time can see.
A text.
What can I do but maybe make-up ***
A text
A wait
Now a reply of hate
Flowers in the bin and I won't bother
She'd be better with a more reliable lover
A girl with no watch and an absence of time
If available then join the back of the line
Time to defect and walk back down those stations steps
Always another girl so what the heck
There in the back ground whilst kicking some stones
The noise of an announcement far away from the stations tones....

WE WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGISE FOR THE RECENT MISCOMMUNICATION ANNOUNCED REGARDING PLATFORM 3. THAT TRAIN IS NOW PULLING IN AND IS ON TIME. AGAIN, WE APOLOGISE FOR THIS ERROR.

**** it.

I ain't no looker but I'll always give it a go
Had the odd ****** with some they'd call a ***
Been dealt the ugly stick with my face blow by blow
I'll leave the ugly ones alone and not stoop so low
Talking at a pub, a bistro, a bar
I'd try the poshest, the fittest, the ra-ra-ra
The ones who'd say no just waiting for a ya-ya-ya
For the honeys with the money and the Eva Herzigova Wonderbra
But I'd scan the room and those numbers I'd be crunching
As the morning comes and a breakfast I'd be munching
No complaints as the taxi they'd be funding
As I always went above my weight in a fight I'd always be punching
Now I'm not saying this to be 100% true
A bit like Rita, Sue and Bob too
But I would always see the job right through
As once I even ended up with not one but two
Now as the world seems to live on a hotbed of lies
The majority just laughed and said their goodbyes
When some just gave in with a yes and a sigh
Because Lord only knows he loves a man who does try,

Punching

No reaction, just a ripple of shudder
Nearly 30 years, could of done less for ******
Maybe paper, a pen and then just write to her
As a guy once said, its now dead in the water

Remember those days when I finally caught her
Hearing old songs as Waterloo Sunset and Paperback Writer
Now worlds apart with no connection to light here
As I dwell with thoughts just sipping my can of cold beer

Time is an unseen evil in disguise
Falling in love then can't wait for goodbyes
I honestly thought she was the one and I'd finally caught her
But, in the end, she trickles away
Just like punching water.

Come at me with what you will
I take no offence at your thoughts that are ill
Throw those words,
Bombard me,
Harass me,
Try and really hurt me,
Watch them bounce into the depths of nowhere
You'd better sit down as your gonna need a chair
As your words of corruption really do not scare
I have elephant skin,
I'll take it on the chin,
And find somewhere else to begin
As I do not deflate
It's just a thing called fate
Your endless dramas became a bit long in the tooth as,
These bones and skin are now, lets just say,

Puncture proof

From buying my first guitar
To watching strippers in the corner bar
So much can happen
In a street not that well known
A name change now The Broadway
Even this cannot change its sodden ways
Rileys now a place to lose weight
Some games I had when I'd lost my stake
The dive bars now a place to skin up
A Caribean twist with a Guinness to sup
Installing the refit to the Clipso hairdressers
To having a row with the fella who worked there
As to most it will always be the Harlequin cut through
But to us kids in the 90s it was a place of scandel and curfew

Just random shots in multiple tones
All consumed and conjealing in my pocket at home
Never to be aired or plugged for print or download
Such a shame whilst my kids now grow
As they'll always be stay stuck on SIM,
never to be shown

Drinking coffee underwater,
It don't taste like it ought ta

Now running low on salt and pepper,
Not allowed out until someone lets her

Waiting for the lawman to fire that starting gun,
Locked inside to make our own fun

In 9 months we really could have a baby boom,
Locked together for 12 weeks, stuck in the same room

Nothing on the telly that can resemble a decent sport,
The kids at home now all being self taught

Lets get over this blip and laugh it off in due time,
As most of us will live, with just the unfortunate that die

People in the aisles all fighting over soap and bog rolls,
Who ever thought a dump would take its toll

But come on people, it's not hard to stay inside,
Batten down the hatches on a scale called nationwide

We'll all have stories to tell on how we survived,
Now let's all just get our heads down and stay alive!

Guys! You have ten minutes. Ten Minutes!
A clatter as a pan hits the ground
The presenter looks with a smile but not a sound
A raised brow and a flurry of panic
The fear in their eyes all trying to cook organic

You won't believe it but Courtney was just necking Craig by the pool
Shut up! No way!
Seriously
After just telling us all he's gonna propose to Abbey when he gets out
And Abbey's watching this?
Uh huh
What a ****
You know that
A complete ****
It's gonna cause a spat
Unbelievable

I was told by my teacher that I had a voice
But working the tills at ASDA was my only choice
Then this lady heard me humming as I scanned through her Spam
She dragged me to her agent as we rode the Manchester tram
I sang
She cried
I'd never sang with such pride
And hear I stand with Ant and Dec
Cameras on with nowhere to hide

Guys! You have two minutes. two minutes!
Etc. Etc. Etc.............And Repeat

A poem I did not want to write
As we slowly watched her lose her fight
At any time it's a word we don't need
To be struck by a natural curse at its seed
That word, hope
With her looks, just dancing as a model
She made her diagnosis look like a doddle
But the surface covered many an internal ache
For she made the best of it she could make
As its a fire with a spark and a terminal spinning spoke
Always revolving, evolving, to a thread we cannot cope
But Christ did she fight with a sight to give us all a bit of hope
Thank you Dame Deborah James for what you gave

This album reminds me of another time
Before I committed the most selfish of personal crimes
Upsetting the odds and breaking up lifes timetable
To become paralysed and a whole less able
No words can explain my personal pain
To have left my loved ones in the hugest downpour of rain
Escaping on lifes support whilst oblivious in an induced coma
Such a selfish *******, yes I know
Please don't go there
For I love the people who stuck with me through each and every scene
Without you, Jeez, where would I now have been
As I now feel that one word that's sown up my loose seems,
Redeemed

Avoiding all mirrors
A calorie sinner
Dreaming every night
To wake up a little thinner

One time visit to the local gym
Membership cancelled, straight in the bin
I just to live my life in sin

Something to grab,
They're called love handles I'd brag
Now lets get upstairs for some lovin', its called a quick....

Being judged on TV by Hopkins and Feltz
As I lay in bed watching, listing to the heavy rain pelt
With clothes that just fit me, another notch on my expanding belt

But why be unhappy trying please the chosen few
Please yourself and not the judgemental crew
Were on here once my friend, so,
Let you just be you

There is always a place for regrets
To store them, to leave them
Come back to them when necessary
Sometimes their storage is a mistake
Remembering things you wish you'd never want too
Mistakes once said in the depths of an argument
Now you shudder for once speaking out of term
But that's what regrets are made to make you feel
A flippant remark or an unsought comment
Words on a text that they should never have seen
Taking them places they should never have been
As regrets,
We've had a few
Lets not make that mistake again labelled number two
Stepping back into that wrong sanctimonious queue
As now we know whats right and whats true,

Regrets

Okay,
so pour me another and say that again?
Billions of people believe in a myth
A tale
A story
A fear to make them scared and tense
A belief with no actual evidence
A God so different to everybody else, starting war without sitting on the fence
And you want me to believe this?
Okay,
Pour me another and say that again...

Remembering when your mum would wipe your bot
Remembering when the World was big and pretty
Remembering when life was ace with nothing ever ******

Remembering when people were fun and playful
Remembering when nothing was a handful
Remembering when asking for a sleepover
Remembering when I shared with my dog Rover

Remembering when I couldn't spell my surname
Remembering when all I wanted was fame
Remembering when I first passed my test
Remembering when I thought my car was the best

Remembering when we first had our kids
Remembering when we took them on their first trip
Remembering when they both left High School
Remembering when they often played the fool

Remembering when I fell over in the garden
Remembering when this all first happened
Remembering when the van first took me to hospital
Remembering when the acceptance was futile

Remembering when I first forgot my wife's name
Remembering when that put me to shame
Remembering when the nurse then changed my sheets
Remembering when I was hoping for that last final heartbeat

Remember when I could count a lot higher up than you,
When all you had was 30 and I was at 102?

Remember when I stayed up until 10:30pm, with this being a school night,
And now I stumble home from the pub and it's just getting light

Remember when on the toilet reading what was in a bottle of shampoo
Now we read our Facebook while taking that quick poo

Remember when looking for anything that resembled some sort of ****
Now it's in your hands and on your phone, not hidden in dad's shed at the bottom of the lawn

Remember when we drunk that bottle of 20/20, sneakily on the park bench,
Chewing gum and you really hummed, thinking no one could smell your ***** stench

Remember when you told your mum you only cycled to the local shops,
When in reality you just carried on because you didn't want to stop

Remember when eating a bar of chocolate, nothing else would ever really matter,
Now you read the content and what's inside as you don't want to get any fatter

Remember when no one gave two hoots about these sweet little lies,
Now Big Brother watches over us like some silent untrustworthy spy,

Remember when...

Not a noise in the air including the planes wings

To wake up to day one where life is on the mend

Living out of bags thrown on the floor
Different numbered doors on every tour
Rolling up my baccy to release the stress
These band days are over, oh what a mess
Loading amps from Orange onto a Marshall
Setting up the phone, the singer a two-timing rascal
Soon to hit the papers, from The Sun and onto the Fleet
Pregnancy is something you just can't keep discreet
The rows will soon tear this love apart
Now kipping on the bus where the guy's belch and often ****
These days will soon be over, give me my kids and a day in the park
As life on the road could soon be a non-start
Just one more tour
A quick line to secretly score
As years of carrying this load really has left me quite sore

Now this depends on the colour of the pill
The one to make you high or the one to make you ill
If you're in the mood for searing riffs by Jimmy Page
Or you think that **** belongs in another age
Along with the teeth picking tunes by Jimi Hendrix
You'd rather sit in silence eating your Weetabix
Those six string gods such as Clapton and Chuck Berry
Now for a game of domino's with Pete and old Terry
The jukebox here plays the modern from Gaga and onto Oasis
The barmaid likes the older man, let's hope I meet her analysis
She puts on some older songs, The Beatles and The Kinks
Reeling off some other stuff, miss it if you blink
Then the rumour does come true as she catches me with her eye

It's ok, I've never heard of me either
I'm what's called 'back-up' in case a famous one loses its tether
You think the big man relies wholly on the ones that you've heard
They're just for the kiddies tales baby, don't be so absurd
There's Splodger, Spliffer, Ransack and me,
To name but a few with names that don't agree
There's Woody and Wobbler with Randy and Tiddler
You'll get the jist with the names that have been called here
All stood out the back after the main ones have been chosen and cleared
Kids don't want to hear of the ones who break all the rules
Sitting around all day stinking of their own stools
For this isn't the way of a tale to be told
If written in books then none would be sold
As I am the just the Reindeer waiting in the wings
Credit to Rudolph and the other ones who's names the children sing,
As I am happy to be just waiting here, stuck between the shadows
As time will tell if Rodney fits a story, that all will someday follow

Its not a place for the faint hearted
The joining can be a pig, even the reverse parking
But once on, life is a song
No cold calling in the middle of the night
Not a child screaming in the early hours of the school plight
Rarley a punch up from the pub as no room for a full-blown fight
The postie just raises an eye to the thought of dropping letters
I'll get one over on you and live free in a life that is much better
So the daytime traffic can be heavy if not a touch shameful
Lost 2 dogs in this weird old life and do feel slightly dreadful
Yeah its not the safest of place but it saves me a pretty pennyful
****, who am I kidding, in this tent, from old Wembley market
Should have known better when old rex finally last barked it
The TV signal is a sham as I listen to AHA with Morton Harkett
Best get back to the real world with the rats in the daily doldrums
Can always live a life of freedom between my eardrums
For this was a taster of what really can be out there
As I look again at the stars just sat in my underware
You have to live life without a ****,
a dream of wondering who really cares.

Money means no manners when it comes to lifetime matters
Cake slice, some tea, drank with a China Pennyroyal cup
Yet still finds the audacity to leave the toilet seat left up
Not even a lift of the finger when let go at a turn
Just screeches off, no cares in the world, as those Lamborghini tyres burn
A click of the finger to summon the passing waitress
Casually dressed at his father's wake, not even his Sunday best
The wife scurries around, a family day out, trying to keep order to their brood
As he just sits back, glass of wine in hand, wallowing in richness he doesn't even find rude...
Cheers! 🥂

Another day, another new rule
A country being run by an Eton fool
From lockdown to lifted frowns
Deserted pubs to heaving towns
Dropping like flies to were almost over it
Now being told to go back home to wait and sit
You can meet up if you're in your sacred bubble
Womens legs as hairy as her husbands face with stubble
Now towns have broken all the rules, those stupid daft twits
So lets make up some other guff, yes, rule of six
I can meet up with mum and dad but not my sis and kids
But shop in Asda too, rubbing shoulders within the midst
This pandemic goes to show the world is run by clueless buffoons
Who will tell us next it'll be over soon,
Oh we believe you Boris,
We are seriously led by the loons.

This isnt a poem about a girl I once knew
Cos let me tell you man, there has been a few
As I have met many names as Sandy, Amy and those I have forgotton
And surnames not asked like Smith, Jones and McConnon
Goodbyes can also be said to streets I have lived
To my neighbours I once loved and those I'd like to seive
I'm writing this bard a bit to soon as I have still nowhere to go
Just looking at lottery wins in my dreams, to-and-fro
Would I head north or over to the greens of Ireland
Or back to where I grew up, Dorset and its Jurassic Sands
Would moving house make it harder on Wilf the cat
I'm sure he'd find a new place to prowl, they all have the odd rat
And driving up the A1, past the fighting metal zebras
Whilst missing the *** shop everytime, some stories to tell you
Looking up and seeing those birds of prey
Can see why they're are based here, the good old RSPB
But the pubs are closing one by one and now the Queens Head
If this keeps on happening, soon the town will be dead
So time to pick that fantasy house now on Rightmove
And say goodbye to Sandy,
with those fantasy millions, its hard to even choose....

You dreamt it
You put it into a pass
She heard it
She ignored it
She'd heard it somewhere in the past
Your punching
You've no chance
Your well out of your league
She's stunning
She knows this
She's from another seed
Yes she likes you
Yes you're no Cupid
And yes, you did say something stupid,

And that's probably why she's with you

The noise, the harshness, as course as steel off-cuts
To berate, just one word, will have one man scared
From Dundee to Inverness and Clyde,
Just a sentence from a Glaswegian will make you hide
A friendly hello can sometimes sound like a fight
A nod of the cap, I won't upset you,
Let me just keep out of your sight
A pint in the pub with no eye contact at all
Hello, how are ye, what was all the worry
To be scared of such friendly people I have been a fool
The craic is mighty with the pub next to an aging brothel
Best mates now with the few I was so wary

Remember when we used to get bored?
Sitting on the loo with nothing to do
Reading bottles by the bath,

Whilst staring at the fields whizz by, wondering, who built that scarecrow
Now a wandering thought is a novelty

Be it in our hand, the phone or laptop

A light that shines when all others are out
That midnight treat, an escape, a desperation technique
Conversations with an immigrant whose stories are bone chillingly scary
Now keeping tabs on a fridge full of Solero's just wondering if his daughter escaped the screams, the gunfire and if she's now unknowingly buried
The drunk arrives, ***** now gone, gawping at the top shelf
Tried it on, alone tonight, 2 minutes with page 7 just might help
Dome roundabout, A41, a place to stop, from Harrow to Tring
Filling up on a Wednesday, hoping the same man isn't now serving
Air in the sky now 50p to fill the tyres that let us travel
If it wasn't for these rubber soles our lives would be stuck in gravel
But you're hungry and are willing to pay the price for a Ginsters roll
No change for the bridge named after our Queen, how dare they give it a toll
It stands out bright that expensive castle on the hill
Ten pence a litre more to fill the car but hey, you just want to get home and your willing to foot the bill

Nothing better to do
Hated but sometimes loved
Monstrous but also as peaceful as a dove

Blood on the carpet yet to be cleaned

Tails swagging as they have done their job
Everyone looking as they are the top ****
Nice as pie later on as they buy you a pint in the pub
You take it as its them but would really rather snub

For they are the ones who love they're own bark

That first step
A launch into the unknown
Who knows where it could lead
Life's predicaments all in your montage
Dreams of a dream we all had that once
It's a journey of an utter unknown
Could last for years or be over in the snap of a bone
So why do you predict a happy and fruitful life
I just want the best of whilst living as sharp as a knife
Smiling like a fruit-fly who is just here to have some fun
Watch me burn, watch me fly,
But most of all honey,
Show me how you run!!!

What came before, said no one clearly
An explosion of life, the big bang theory
A chasm of chaos, as out come the stars
Planets and black holes,
up pop Venus and Mars
Galaxies are formed in a matter not ever known by man
As they stretch into infinite and further if they can
Are we here all by chance,
or is there a higher, godlike power
Throwing out orders since the start of time, from its heavenly, overseeing tower
All we can do is wonder in time,
until that day we finally die
And to think,
if we really get told,
after we say,
our final,
goodbye

Wasn't life simpler before the Internet
That Sunday phonecall to the parents
And a stroll to the bookies for a bet
Catch up on a Friday in the pub or local bar
Have a laugh and a chat with mates about,
The footy, the birds, their next best car
And always the one who will tell the odd little lie
About the women he's had and flings he's spun
But reality is sat in Fleet services eating a pork pie
Holidays on Teletext with the Algarve at 99 pound
Flicking through to the exchange rate quickly
Right, let's book, who's looking after the hound?
Kids had Short Circuit who could read a book in seconds and say Johnny 5 alive
Such a cumbersome machine on tank like tracks
But on this we all did thrive
When affairs were conducted in phone boxes and coffee shops
Where no one carried a camera to grass you up
And then the husband finds out to bang down the door,
Never mind, KNOCK KNOCK!
If they're simpler times now, then on your head be it
But give me that 20 minute load up cassette games, and the choke on my Punto FIAT
For I loved simpler times,
That's just the way that I see it.

Today I was told we all sin in our lifetime
This from a priest at a funeral for a friend of mine
Of course we all have that insane illegal thought
But good parenting knows not to proactive what bad TV has taught
And then sometimes it clicks, that nasty, inner unknown switch
That unleashes some hidden stowaway evil gaddamn itch
Scratch scratch
Twitch twitch
Come on now and unleash that heady, now monstrous *****!

Fear Of Missing Out

FOMO (fear of missing out) is the enemy of valuing your own time - Andrew Yang

The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once. - Albert Einstein

I went to a restaurant that serves 'breakfast at any time'. So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance. - Steven Wright

We like to share but some times too much,
On where we went,
What we spent,
Or a flat to live with slightly cheaper rent,
But sharing is caring you say so lets just carry on...

We love your guile, your championing and thrills,
But sometimes its just overspill,
I believe the actual word is overkill,
So please just finish up and pay the ******* bill.

Yes its funny that you dressed as a dinosaur to complete some race,
And the next you dressed as a man with a tache on your face,
Is there nothing you won't do or lovingly embrace?
Except tell the whole wide world and give it a daily break.

But you don't hear a tune that is a never ending song,
So please just stop as it goes on too long,
We love what you do as of which there is nothing wrong...

Some think that it is pleasure and slightly sadistic,
And tomorrows post will be similar as we all predicted,
Because you are what you are,
a new phase of need gulping that new food of feed,
You are whats now known as,

Socially Addicted.

Dig a little deeper, lets see what we can find
Rumours from another mouth, this person's past is a goldmine
Nosey are we, trying to find a deficit in their will
Social media the perfect launchpad, to see if they fit the bill
Who do they know and where do they live, are they on the dole in some ****** flat getting ****** in front of their kids,
Or am I entirely wrong, they have an outstanding job, a Porsche on the drive, thank God for this social dig
For we now have the tools, the hidden prosperity to judge, without even meeting the persons content
Oh hang on, wait, they dated way back at school
That was 20 years ago, surly they have changed,
Let's not be made to look a fool
It is in our psyche, this need to know, if it's there then take a look
A quick google search, sat on our judgemental perch, let this Pawn meet their Rook
But times they must change, from school we have rearranged, our lives to read from a different book
As now its so public, downloads in our pocket, this tool which acts as our own,

Social shovel

Ripping down the walls of time and the everyday meet and greet
met my partner on Facebook not at a bar on my own two feet
we got chatting about the falseness of friendships all created by one Yank nerd
A billionaire now due to all our online socializing, his name, Mark Zuckerberg

Just how do we talk now with the obsessiveness of our phones
a chats a chat, whether it be text or twitter, although I still prefer the human tone
some meet on a dating app, you’ll see sat in a bar, looking, almost prairie dog
long term relationship or a snog in the dark, others even go the whole hog

So what has happened too, can I buy you a drink and maybe a little dance
maybe it’s us oldies who still take the old fashioned stance
to use these modern apps I would rather blush than use Tinder or Bumble
remembering the days of maybe a number, a crap film in the dark just looking for a fumble

But times move on and it’s what is known as the modern day version of romance
people take offence with a quick compliment now, I don’t think I’d take my chance
as we are all now sociable addicts with a point to prove each day
I’m engaged, were married, some see it as a place to even come out as gay (hey, it rhymes!)

As this is how we progress in life and it’s how it’s always been
we mix with people we like and dislike as it’s all part of the social scene
others tend to hide their love away as it’s not really for them
but the likes of all the kids today, to them its total Zen

It's a day we never know coming
Could be anything
ANYTHING
An accident
A car crash
A mafia whack
And you just think you'll go on forever
Well listen up
Today is Tuesday
It could be any day
But it is today
I won't say how
I won't say why
But it's going to be a today
Tuesday.
Who knew?

Make of those four letters, what you will
It's just about swallowing the bitterest pill
People don't like another opinion to theirs
It's about moving the easiest of chairs
I have been told I need to have a word with myself
Because I don't like the simple option straight off the shelf
Life is about being different and standing strong in what you believe
Not nodding yes, that'll do, and just taking what you receive
For I don't ever mean to rock the boat, baby
It's just a case of staying put, don't give in,
And not go along with the ifs, buts, and maybes

Chasm
That's the space you want to fill
Looking out of the window whilst serving on the till
People buying those tickets for a load they only dream
Lotteries around the world letting off that mystic steam

Waiting
Maybe they'll pick you up that unknown multi millionaire
Living a life now in a dream without a single care
Your thoughts of a dramatic career basically now a flop
So why would that man of influence be shopping in co-op?

Dreaming
Looking at the Cava thinking its only cheap Champagne
What should I wear to Sharon's party as that top is now stained
Who's going to be there I suppose the usual bunch of boys
Then he pulled up in front of my door, a Silver Rolls Royce

Hello
Older but not by much he stumbles through, such a panic
Do you have anything to get this stain away from such fabric
Hot water, a good scrub as he ripped it off down to his tum
I took it, soap and then some, you'd be the kind of girl to meet my mum

Someday
Dried under the blower in the ladies toilet
I'm sure if I got with him he'd have my life summed up
So thankful he threw it on and told me I was his hero
I blushed, felt good for a while but then back down to zero

Again,

Someday

I can feel it
Is it the place
Is it the company
Is it the time
Is it the day
Something is coming
Something very soon
I'm telling you
I can feel it

Somethings Happening

Guilty sleeping
Spent nights weeping
Thoughts constantly fleeting
Our last meeting
My heart still beating
Now broken and will need treating
As the songbird flies by
Your name, it will always be singing,

I miss you

The odd word sometimes slips out
I mean nothing by it
It's just human instinct
I say what I mean in the passions of such clout
Offended?
Then sorry
Or am I?
Get a grip woman,
It's just a word that instinctively rolled from my mouth
Well if you don't like this then see me when drunk
I'll tear you to pieces
I'll shatter your dreams
And leave this room dirtier than that of a skunk
Spraying the kerbside with thoughts of a madman
Speaking such truths
Littering the graves of such inbuilt angst
Whilst wittering away and dancing the can-can
Dont try and stop me as this is my food
Living on this tribal urge
The surrounding men have given up their surge
So sorry for being so rude.

Well it's easy
This is what you do
Tell no one
Nobody
Nothing
Its your idea
Yeah, it's been rattling around up there for years, but it's yours
Write it down
Lock it away
Whack a copyright on it
And when the time is right...
Unveil your life change for this world to see,
And that my friend can answer your question of,

So you want to be a millionaire?
