think for a moment
about how small you are
about how short you live
and how the sky isn’t upwards
but all encompassing

think for a moment
about how vast nothingness is
about how little we know
and how if the universe is infinite
we will never explore a single percent of it

not one

the moon used to follow me
and the stars pinned up the sky

the scariest part of the night
was getting out of bed to turn my cassette tape

now i am little more than a speck
in the infinitely huge universe

and i have my playlist on shuffle

theres this one rug in my house
by the front door
just full of dirt and cat hair and dog hair from a long deceased dog
and no matter how hard i try
to push the vacuum over it
to shake the dirt off
it remains as is
*****

the vacuum can make a fuss and claw and nip at its edges
but there that rug is
its just *****

menegeration upon menageralteration
repetitertiary reprehensetic alliteritis
verbummers, wordumbers, succumbers
a vastacious pitopotumus of editrocity and creatensity
flowbabbling biblications of tongue-twist'toxification
mounternations of bit-piecery with bit-bitty sensatsory
pile-up-ifications of crump,wrink,an’throwawaytions
snowballify, goodbye'ify, and then sigh
sigh and scrawlify
