Opening day
Is extra special
For a Pirates fan
We are tied
For first place
Even in
Wins and losses
Looking forward
To the playoffs
Go Buccos!
After twenty
Years of loosing
A world record
Of loosing
We need this
One day
To feel good
Before we
Lose again
Maybe not
This might
Be our year
Opening day
Optimists
Not a great poem! I just had to say something. My family and I ave hope! My thirteen year old never saw the Pirates win. This may be our year. I've said this for twenty years. Bad poem I know.

(there are your practice poems)
which we’ve all written
(there are your professional poems)
where we assume the accent of "the poet"
and then (there are your Real poems)
those where a woman can no longer speak to her mother
(and her mother isn’t dead yet)
and her husband stays by her side
(because their bond is that strong)
and that's how things end up
(how memories fail)
and we all get distracted
(from what really matters)
and then some child tries to make it right
(but fails, again)
like some inept diplomat
(and then gets distracted...

Oh I'm sorry.

I forgot you're never wrong

and my argument is always invalid
Stuck between a rock and a hard place,
trying to remember a lost face.
Trying to fight for first place,
with the whole world on my case.

The weight of the world on my shoulders,
I stand tall and strong, like a boulder.
So what, my heart's growing colder,
but that's only because I can't hold her.

I can't bare the deception,
of my own mind and depression.
These feelings inside, I'm suppressing,
and their urgency, it is pressing.

The love that you give is astounding,
the strength your love profounds me.
I can feel my heart, it's pounding,
from your love,
all your love.

You are a gift,
a savior with magical blue eyes.
Here to save me,
from my own demise.

You are beauty,
in it's greatest form.
You are the sunshine,
in the darkest storms.

The key to a new life,
the key to a new love,
you are perfect, darling,
an angel from above.

carve the words
"right" and "left"
deep into your wooden wrists
backwards, if you want
just make sure you can feel them
so you can't forget
how many letters
went unopened
or how red the ink must have appeared
as it bathed the roots
of so many solitary trees
This has changed significantly since I originally posted it...

As the Sun has its place
In the clear, halcyon sky
Your mind resides here
Please don't resist to comply
Intercept each divagated thought
Interconnect with my waves
Vibe with my presentiment
Upon each other, we're slaves
"Hooked" on each other's hooks
As our conscious rocks and cradles
Sharing minds as we flutter
Animated fantasies, but no fables
I think the way you think
You coast adjacent to my vibe
Our mental surrounds each other's
Mine and yours, a dear circumscribe
We entwine as a tightly woven braid
Entangled upon a common bond
We savor of our intuitive thoughts
Your every move, I'm surely fond
Enriched with pleasurable closure
In summer's embrace, we wallow
In this psychological playground
My angel, your position is hallow
We're two minds that amalgamate
Gratified with not one discrepancy
Only our mutual brains keep subtle
A deep, infrangible, sweet telepathy..
