Dormant, standing on the bow peering out with telescope in hand
Quite seas
Off in the distance,
Land
Bright sunlight piercing through closed fingers
Shielding the reflection of the ocean and sky
To no avail
Telescope still in hand
Distance drawing nearer
"Land **!" yells the lookout as dry ugly faces peer out from below deck
Grumbling voices wake from their slumber as the crew saunters their way into the day light and fresh air
They grab rope, and hooks, swords, and supplies
Captain steering towards the shore
They hop on three dinghies
Eight strong
Yo ** ** and a bottle of ***
Eyepatches, sly grins, and peg legs a plenty
No one greets them on the small island
They are there to pillage the resources and devour the meats as they reach soil
Sharp teeth and empty stomachs
Tattoos of women with large *******, and anchors, hearts, and daggers
***
Much *** will be swigged and landing in bellies come nightfall
Songs sung by fires warm light
At mornings break they shall hunt and scour the land for animals and resources
They haven't a map but smell treasure
They know it's there
They whiff at the air to determine their course
They argue their cut, their share of their findings until one man lay dead from sharp blades final judgement
More for the taking of the rest of the crew
Morning comes
Through the branches, over rocks they climb towards the peek
The summit
A cave, a cave is in sight
They throw rocks in order to draw out and living creature that may have made a home inside
No sound permeates
It is safe to enter
Fire sticks are lit and cave is entered with caution
Whispers and hushes
They stumble
Head meets rock
Blood
This is no easy life
They reach a cavernous waterhole
The first man is egged on to explore its contents
Explore its depth
The water is knee deep
Until, until he sinks out of sight and the water swallows him whole
Startled, the men scamper back to dry land
"Where has our fellow mate gone", they ask
Splashing, he reemerges
He reaches the surface and cries out
"Gold!!"
The ending is no ending but for you to decide
Tired
Falling down
Been beaten
To the ground
Stood back up
Time and again
Wondering
Will this ever end
Can't stop now
I've made it this far
Fell on the moon
Reaching for stars
I won't give up
I'll never quit
Crossing the finish line
Just takes some grit
Fight
Fight
Never give in
Loss comes to all
Of those who don't win
Strive
Strive to be your best
Because after all
This is only a test
The second you give up
The second you quit
Makes failure the label
Most likely to stick
Move on
On to the new
Set out and conquer
For the forgotten few
Those who could not muster
The pain of defeat
Remember.....
You'll never stay down
Once you land on your feet
Like a cat in the night, I prowl
After lizards or bigger game; fowl
And like a wolf on a full lit moon, I howl
But like a dog; back me into a corner, and I'll growl

Like a lion in the jungle, I roar
Or like an eagle way up high in the sky, I soar
I'm the panda everyone loves to adore
My animal instincts are hard to ignore

I'm like the antelope that runs wild and free
To the giraffe who eats leaves from a tree
I'm the spider that spins
The hippo that swims
And I have the elephants superb memory

I'm the owl that hunts in the night
I'm the bat who can still see without sight
I'm the laughing hyena
The sloths calming demeanor
I'm the gorilla with all of his might

I'm the goat on the mountain
The birds in the fountain
I'm the dolphins in the wide open sea
I'm the cheetah running fast as can be

I'm the bear that eats fish
The lovebirds that kiss
I'm the dragon and fire
The stripes of a tiger
And I have the foxes keen sense of wit

I'm the rabbit that hops
The lamb and his chops
I'm the monkey who swings
I'm all of these things
But most of all I am the beast that is me
Fun write
Journey to a far off land,

Forget about events transpired

Stare into the bright lit tube

Powered through its wires

Click the switch, surf the waves

Before deciding on a channel

That allows you to open up your mind

Never more than you can handle

Relax

Grab a snack

Sit there in your underwear for all I
care

Ponder life's mystique

Let your worries drip away

With your drivel as you sleep

Covet every moment

Every sitcom and commercial

No matter how risqué

Or otherwise controversial

Laugh until your hearts content

Clap when the audiences cheer

That you should become part of the culture

Surrounded by your peers

Cry with every parting

Of favorite characters parts portrayed

The actors most relatable

The true "stars" of the trade

For tomorrow is another day

To face the daily grind

No fast forwarding through the days events

Or pausing, until quitting time

Set the DVR, to view at some other time

Shut your eyes and get some rest

Or Netflix and chill and hit rewind

Play back every missed detail

You somehow overlooked

Or better yet, hit the on/off switch

And open up a book.
This poem may get revised, but I like the concept a lot. Needs some tweaking IMO.
If I'm lying flat on the ground

The ground beneath my feet

And you walk up to me;

Don't put me down with hateful words

Words I can't repeat

Instead, go prance off on your high horse

With the sarcasm which you speak

Or come lay down beside me

Where land and bodies meet

That the blades of grass surrounding us

Protruding, from between our naked feet

Sing to me a sweet melody

That I someday can repeat

Tussled hair on head, swaying back and forth

Shoulder from shoulder, cheek to cheek

Grooving in harmonic rhythm

In sync with the beat.

Rays of sunlight bouncing

Off everything we see

A blinding self reminder

Of how angels get their wings

Sing to me, sing to me great melodies

Sing to me, sing to me my queen

That I should go to sleep at night

Dancing with you in my dreams

— Jason Klenetsky
Emptied mind, clear of thought
Dreams envisioned, never sought
Life has never gone as planned
Lightning strikes where I stand
Ideas are formed and carried out
Never a question, never a doubt
An adventure of the grandest scale
We cannot falter, we cannot fail
Always forward, never reverse
The worlds a stage, never rehearsed
Adjust to all that comes our way
Never put off for tomorrow, what can be done today
Open your eyes and stay awake
Push your limits, never break
Feed your mind, harness ideas
Before all your hard work disappears
Connect to others, share your wealth
Maintain your body and your health
Strive for greatness, reach for stars
Expand your vision, raise the bar
Don't just settle, don't conform
Change your outlook, don't be forlorn
The journey is the greatest part
You'll never reach the ending, if you never start
A break away from depressing writings.
Despising ones self for the person they're not

Takes a lifetime of practice
and all that they've got

Stuck in the past and a prisoner of time

Locked up in shackles
In ones very own mind

Breathing in air that others deserve

Not sure why they're here still walking the earth

Remorse for a wasted life year after year

Seen through the eyes of loved ones and all they hold dear

As tears trickle down
Into a puddle of grief

It's all they can muster to feel some relief

Failure upon failure never tasting success

Makes a person feel worthless and praying for a quick death

Connecting with no one, left alone to wage war

Like a lion in sheeps clothing unable to roar

Waking from nightmares
Time and again

Not a soul to confide in
Not a single good friend

A constant struggle and the testing of ones own free will

Can crumble down the highest of walls that took years to build

No one chooses to enter or when to check out

Just an empty container
That's filled with self doubt

Conflict and turmoil and clouds overhead

Is where to find comfort when laid down for bed
Constant inner struggles are the make up of many
