I never knew that friendships would become battles,
How close connections can blow up in your face,
Leaving your body and your soul scarred and maimed.
Memories are mines buried deep beneath the surface of your brain,
Exploding when an emotion treads heavily upon it,
Painful,
Upsetting,
Numbing.

It seems that they can be destroyed just as quickly as they are built,
As each brick is stacked
Another two are torn down.

There are dark sides to friendship,
They convey their kindness and trust
But beneath the surface there are tremors
Growing into earthquakes,
Transformed into chaos.

I feel trapped under the rubble they have thrown on me,
**And they have left me to die.

I almost forgot
What it was like to breathe in air
To be able to live without tears.
I almost forgot
But then I realized that you needed me
More than I could ever need you
And I stayed.
Because us, together,
Might just keep us going

Like the good old wizard
like your best fairy.
And especially a wise sage
Friendships are the only ever things
that improve with age.
Except wine of course
and cheese.
Oh what fragile things friendships are
One comes and another goes
One door opens and another comes to a close

There are few that last forever
Some slowly fade away over time
Others crash down before your eyes

Some are ruined by ignorant actions
Others are held together by lies
And when they fall apart its no surprise

I often wonder what it would be like
If people saw through the lies to the real me
And saw that I am only pretending to be happy

I suppose that's why I only have one friend really
I tell him everything though I really don't have to
He sees through the lies and pulls out the truth

But oh what fragile things friendships are
One comes and another goes
One door opens and another comes to a close

Friendships
We fight
We cry
We laugh
We joke
My friends
Are my angels
Sent down from heaven
Friendships
Friendships come and go
But some will always stay
But you
You know no matter what
I love my friends
They teach me to have fun, laugh and smile
I thank them for getting out of my disastrous mind
For a little while

The friendships you had yesterday might not be the ones you have today and the friendships you have today might not be the ones you will have tomorrow, so accept those who leave, embrace those who are and be excited by those to come!
