It's a terrible way to govern
Look about you, says one
I agree says another
But it's the best there is.

Don't despair, my American friends
Says a wise and compassionate poet
An old Russian proverb says
Criticize not a dancing bear
For being clumsy and not standing tall
But be amazed and grateful
That the bear can dance at all.

the words
ambiguous and abstract
were coined
because of the things
humans failed to comprehend
just like
your love for me
developed
because you needed
a warm soul to fill that
cold space of her absence with

Don't hang around
Waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel
Because in the end
You're just going to have to stumble your way
Through the darkness
And turn it on for yourself

I put in the time,
I passed the state test,
Everyone is so proud,
Still, I can care less.

It's time to move forward,
Build up that resume,
Time to start that career,
Instead of sleeping all day.

I can't take the next step,
I'm terrified of change,
I've become paralyzed,
This feeling is strange.

Shouldn't I be happy?
Joyfully motivated in a way?
Excited about tomorrow,
And Seizing the day?

They're expecting great things,
But I just can't persist,
Everyone else is happy,
Except this "pessimist."
