What's all of this ruckus
Going on in my back yard
Both the squirrels and the blue jays
Are hitting it pretty hard

They keep screaming at each other
Like some self made government
This ain't the way nature's supposed to behave
With no harmony in the mix

Is it to much to ask for
A little peace and tranquility
I think they need a mediator
Since they can't seem to agree

So I ask a passing possum
If it is he wouldn't mind
Help solve this little problem
To bring nature back in line

Both sides met together
The old stump a peace table of sorts
Where they all decided to get along
And once again be friendly cohorts

Now there's no more commotion
Life is back to where it all belongs
While the squirrels are playing with their nuts
The blue jays sing along in song
Ain't life grand!

Listening to a love song
With a broken heart
Is torture
My eyes fill
With a ocean of tears
As the lyrics
Bruise my chest
And memories
Scorch through my mind
Why can't I have
The perfection that's in this tune
The perfection of love returned

It’s not being labeled fat or thin

Or the number on the scale

It’s the looks we get when we step out the door

That keeps us down

Or lifts us high

We’re only measured by our looks

What great power it bares
Containing my thoughts
That will never be shared
Never be lost
Most are bright
But some are dark
Either way
They're works of art
The mind is a beautiful thing

I like the word oxymoron –
probably my favourite English word,
It sound derogatory but it is just a figure of speech.
I kind of like the word nincompoop
but I’d change it a bit to noncompoop
which would then I can say is an abbreviation for non-competent ****.
I made up the word mysticscientist –
I know it’s hard to say, perhaps i should shorten it to myscientist.
I like the word strumpet,
coz even though it sounds like a musical instrument,
It’s actually another word for a ****, not the eating kind.
Another fav of mine is teetotaller,
I mean who on earth would ever guess this to mean
someone who doesn’t consume alcohol,
really who came up with this, I’d really like to know.
When young, I learnt a word that truly stuck;
It’s guffawed meaning laughed out loud;
It’s the prefix guff that completely throws you off,
guff out loud, she guffawed or gol like lol!
(guff is not a prefix, just saying it looks like one: guffstraying, guffanalysing, guffanance)
Everyday I open the dictionary to discover new English words;
it’s a wonder to me, that the list keeps growing
only 26 letters but still quite amazing.
Disclosure: i made up guffstraying, guffanalysing, and guffanance to show how guff might be beautifully used as a prefix – gol! 

Monday was busy
So I put it of till tomorrow night
Tuesday brought unexpected news
So I couldn't get it done
Wednesday came, and passed
I was so ******* I simply forgot
Thursday was manic as the ending of the week
Then the children to entertain
Friday I had a meeting and emails to send
before I knew it I was playing daddy again
Saturday we went to the beach made castles and laughed
The day was gone in a blink of an eye opportunity lost
Sunday I washed ironed and cleaned a weekend as many have been
Then in a flash Monday was back and I still didn't have time to tell you
I didn't find time to say I loved you
I didn't make time to do it
Then time had passed
So had you and I
like so many loves we blew it.
Taken for granted on both of our stances
That love didn't need to be spoken
Tell that to a soul who's asleep on her own
A heart needlessly broken
So remember today in some kind of way even if it's only a hug
Tell them how special they are in your life
Make time to say you love them
Before it's to late to say anything

Chuck it out the window
Hide it
Under the seat
Change the cd before we're caught
Kicking it to Milli Vanilli
