In perspective of everything, I am nothing.

A* minor blip in time and space.
Microscopic compared to the entire universe.

Maybe I am small, but I'm
Enjoying it anyways.

I just realized how small we really are, yet how amazing we can be. This is an acrostic, written to prove a point.

I'd think myself a fool to tell you
But I'd be an idiot not to

I'll regret the words I'm about to speak
But it'd **** me not to

I'm going to give myself to you
With not a single string attached

So love me as well as I have loved you
And keep me as long as you want to

Your night,
Fueled by the throbbing bass
My night,
Fueled by your melting face
and I realize the only difference is the inferences.

The Kitchen sink,
stained with *****,
decorated in broken bottles.
Empty spaces extinct by strange faces,
some of them had cartoon eyes and
for the first time in my life I felt my shoulders needed to breathe.

Together we all broke the floor.
The laughter right after let you know
what kind of house this was.

"Hey, I'm Shane, whats you're name?"
"I don't have a name"
and she walked away,
Nameless,
but we both know more then we did before.

The constant pulse
made every second the first
until the red and blue lights
came to save the neighbors nights sleep.
Strange Raves are lame on acid.

Just like a song
You're musical

Just like a song
You're rhythmic

Just like a song
You're hypnotic

Just like a song
You're lyrical

Just like a song
You're in my head

Just like a song
You're catchy

Just like a song
You're on repeat

Just like a song
You're inspirational

Just like a song
You're my favorite
i used to cradle her bleach-cracked hands in mine
and decode the stardust resting within her fingerprints
up until the day that i lost touch with the art of reading braille
and she stopped slinging tall-tales for me to fetch
and rest the plot-twist at her feet

often in the post-script
i'd find my train of thought highjacked by the sunlight illuminating the rainbow of earth-tones ablaze
in her frizz-ridden curls
as if she'd been washing her hair with the damaged case of beer
she'd gotten for half-price at liqour depot
     she never did quit drinking
          but neither did i

at least we tried

though sometimes
in the middle of the night when nothing was alright
and we'd barely survived another fight
her face would catch my glance
cast aglow by a flood of lava-lamp light

the sea of freckles resting at the crest of her cheeks
rose lips perma-pursed in half tilt
her resting heart-rate so high that i could almost see it
          pirouetting within her chest

it was then that i'd love her best
amidst the ruins of who we were
     just moments before
a love poem, for the girl i can sometimes spot in my reflection.

Redshift
i leaned across the sink
and let the sun touch my freckles
like i was doing him a favor
as well as myself
for once
scent of a woman
sent from god
sends me forever
ascending awed
